Honestly,
It mostly doesn’t matter — how you look. What is matter — how you present yourself.
I have studied wild, the hunter. The king of jungle.
The deadliest animal? The hippopotamus. The most successful hunter? The African wild dog.
And the lion? Surprisingly, not on top in size, speed, or agility. Even BBC science notes that the tiger outpaces the lion in sheer power.
Still, the lion is called the king. Why?
Because presence beats power.
The Lion’s Lesson
The lion rests most of the day. Eats little. Walks slow. Yet one look into its eyes, and you feel command. Not fear — respect.
The lion doesn’t chase approval. It sets the tone.
Humans work the same way. Studies show presence can raise success rates from 6% to 70%. And presence comes from confidence. Confidence is built on four habits.
1. — Speak With Purpose (or Stay Silent)
Talk without sense, and you’re just noise. Speak with truth, and people listen.
Silence shows control. It shows depth.
The best speakers don’t talk much. They make words count.
2. — Confidence in Scent
It sounds small. But the reality is different.
The way we smell changes — how we feel and how others see you.
The Prophet Rasul Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam valued perfume for this reason.
Confidence starts in small details. Even scent adds to it.
3. — Eye Contact: The Silent Roar
Think of these movie characters.
Do you remember Cillian Murphy character in Peaky Blinders.
Or,
Michael Corleone in The Godfather.
The steady eyes. The calm face. The weight of presence.
Eyes say what words can’t. They connect, they persuade, they lead.
4. — Behaviour: The Lasting Crown
Looks fade. Skills fail. But behaviour lasts.
Respect. Calm. Integrity. This is real power.
Daniel Goleman calls it emotional intelligence. History shows it too.
The Prophet Rasul Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam changed hearts not with force but with kindness, patience, and a smile.
Your behaviour is your lasting mark.
The Choice is Yours
The hyena may be smart and tough. But it will never command respect. It doesn’t carry itself like a lion.
So ask yourself:
Will you stand like a lion — or scramble like a hyena?
Talent fades. Strength passes. Presence endures.
Stand tall. Speak clear. Hold your gaze. Respect all.
Be the lion. People notice. People respect. In time, people follow.
Takeaway:Â Presence > Power. Behaviour > Strength. Confidence > All.
Your crown is not in what you hold — it’s in how you hold yourself.
