Even if you don’t know who Leslie Jordan is, you know who Leslie Jordan is. He’s that little white haired man. Boston Legal, American Horror Story, Will & Grace, Boston Public, assorted beer comercials…trust me, you’ve seen him.
He plays up his “good southern boy” roots, but he’s also very open about growing up gay in the South long before gay rights were even whispered about, and about his challenges with substance abuse and recovery.
I’ve been a fan for years, long before I knew the struggles he had gone through before he found his place in the world – on screen and in front of audiences. I think most people would be surprised at the darkness he came out of. He has his own active Facebook account, which he writes himself. This post touched me, not only for the honesty, but for who he has become because of what he’s been though. and the message he has for others.
