Bodies With a Voice

Your body is not an enemy
It is sometimes a reflection
Mirroring an inner self
To a physical we can see
All of the thoughts and feelings
Especially fears and comparisons
Packed away in hopes to never confront
Can find space in the body that we see
To help us see what is crying out
In hopes we may resolve the root of the pain
Always beautiful
Regardless of limiting beliefs
Always directing you
Even when you did not realize you were ready
Your body can be a very kind voice
What you hide can become what controls you
It is okay to dread facing the unbearable
But how else will it be transformed?
Who else will know your heart like you do?
When that weakness you responded to
With continuing years of shame for yourself
Becomes but a memory
A cocoon you outgrew
How increasingly little there is to stop you
A freeing momentum into who you really are
When you rescue yourself of the control of Fear
And finally learn the experience
Of thinking a thought free
Both of others’ criticism
And your own
You see yourself with so many limits
But the limits are shadows –
The only substance is you!
You’ve got this.
