Phillips went on to challenge the state law that said he was wrong to refuse the couple, and five years later the case has gone to the U.S. Supreme Court. Arguments are expected to start later this fall, and Social has already started taking sides. The baker’s case went viral when it first hit the web, and Social remembers with a furious 91 percent negative sentiment rating. While the baker is widely seen as hateful online, oddly Jack Phillips does a bit better when his name is attached to the analysis. Then, he gets 32 percent positives on 30dB, which puts him on par with many of his ideological allies within the Trump Administration. In fact, some of those allies within the Justice Dept. even filed a brief in support of Phillips. “Forcing Phillips to create expression for and participate in a ceremony that violates his sincerely held religious beliefs invades his First Amendment rights,” part of the statement read. The brief urged SCOTUS to side with Phillips and strike down the Colorado law that started this whirlwind of controversy. –Hugo Guzman
