Thoughts About My Father In The Great Basin
That silence lasts
That sounds do not last
That close attention is rewarded
That, in fact, nothing else is rewarded
That much is hidden, but nothing is lost
That care is proof enough of tenderness
That the most dead, the bone dry, the salt
Someday freshens, flows again
That the path followed
Goes on forever
