Some years ago, sitting in a diner one morning, I realized that while there are often fights in bars, there never seem to be “diner fights.” And, then, with tongue in cheek, I thought — what are the possible reasons for this difference in fight frequency in those two venues? For example, could it be the music played in bars (vs. in diners)? I wondered, What could it be?
