Expectations can free or weigh down
But we generally choose weigh down
I expect this outcome
I will take this action
This action will move This
This will move That
And in a Supposed To Be time
It will all come together!
This is realistic
This is what I must do.
Or so we think to ourselves
Confident we are cooperating with God
When really we are hoping He will miss
Just how quietly we attempt to move His Hand
We compliment God on being divine
But we are sure He does not really understand
This specific spot we are in
Surely He does not know our pain
Or else He would deliver us
But we fail to recognize He already has
He gave us the ability to create new beginnings
And to navigate our hearts with wisdom
A goal can be a very good pursuit
But just because you “know” you will achieve it
Does not mean you know the journey’s turns
Some things are not to be known
Until you arrive at the appointed step
Life does not submit to your Supposed To Be’s
Life responds to your energy
Can you accept the outcome you worked for?
Will you pursue it only to shrink back in fear?
Your energy, your mindset, your beliefs
Need to be able to sustain the positive outcome
And to spend your gift with grace
Perhaps you are tired
Not because you worked so hard
But because you believed a Supposed To Be
And it did not happen at the Supposed To Be time
Your circumstances are acting as a mirror
Showing the reverence you give to doubts
Instead of to Love
When your Love is patient
Then your heart can rest
And you can begin again
Believing right
With authentic peace
Until that happy outcome.
You’ve got this!
