Look, no one can keep the pedal to the metal non-stop. It’s like trying to run your car at top speed all the time and never using the brakes; it’s gonna break down or you’re going to crash. Great warriors and great leaders are the same. They need to pick their moments. Sometimes it’s smarter to coast along or save your energy for when it matters, and the sweet spot is in finding the middle ground and understanding when to lower it and save energy and also when to raise it and bring all of your power. Think of it as pacing yourself in a marathon. You don’t sprint the whole way, right?
Now, it’s not about being lazy. It’s about being smart. If you’re always on, always pushing, something’s gonna give.
Remember, the brightest stars burn out the fastest. And if you’re burning the candle at both ends, expecting top-notch results every time, you’re setting yourself up for a huge crash. And nobody wants that.
Why Warriors Can’t Go Full-Throttle All The Time
So, I was talking with a very good friend the other day, and this light bulb went off in my head. You know those days when you’re in beast mode, crushing everything, and then you can’t even be bothered the next day? I do! Whether it’s at work, at the gym, or even just chilling at home. I, at times, find myself on fire or burned out.
Now, I’m not the only one, right? We all have these “all or nothing” days. But man, it’s exhausting. One day I’m the king of the world, and the next, I’m barely dragging myself around. There’s gotta be a better way.
That made me realize that maybe it’s not about the highs and lows. Maybe it’s about finding a consistent rhythm. Something in between that lets me get things done without feeling like I’ve been run over by a truck.
Get a Grip!
Leadership isn’t about going nuts 24/7. It’s about knowing when to step on the gas and when to hit the brakes. It’s a dance, not a sprint, it’s a marathon. You’ve got to feel the rhythm of things, see the bigger picture.
If you’re running on high all the time, thinking you’re some superhero leader, spoiler alert: you’re not. You’re just heading for a big fall. And let’s be real; nobody’s gonna follow a leader who’s always frazzled and stressed out. It’s not a good look.
Leaders have to be calm in the storm. If you’re constantly in overdrive, how are you gonna handle it when things go sideways? Cool heads lead the way, not ones that are about to explode.
Be Smart Every Day
I get it, warriors and bosses have epic moments. But every day isn’t a blockbuster movie. Sometimes, it’s just a regular day, and that’s okay. So instead of trying to turn every day into an epic adventure, why not embrace normal everyday wins?
Every day can’t be turned up to 11. There will be those days where it’s just about getting by, ticking things off the list, and that’s ok. Not every song is a hit, but that doesn’t mean the album’s not good, and it doesn’t mean you still aren’t striving to be your best. Your best doesn’t look the same every single day.
Take it from someone who’s been there: find your groove. Not too high, not too low. Just steady. Life’s way better when you’re not always on the edge.
