When I first started, I was definitely typecast. It’s not that I always play the villain, but I also play antagonists and off-beat characters. I’ll be honest, the more I do it, the more I realize that the people that I am playing are human beings like everyone else. I can be the typical villain, or I can go further and make them as human as possible. This is the same in real life with people who can fool people with totally different lives. It’s my job to play my characters and make them human. That tends to scare people even more. It’s a part of the story, and the hero has to be beaten down by the villain over and over again in order to rise up in the end. — David Vescio in an interview with TheCelebrityCafe.com

ABOUT DAVE VESCIO
Dave Vescio started acting in films around five years ago, but he’s already appeared in dozens of movies. TheCelebrityCafe.com’s Ellen Stodola spoke with him about his recent work on the film, Hick, his tendency to be cast in villainous roles, and his plans for the future. You can read this interview in it’s entirety here
TheCelebrityCafe.com: How did you first get into acting?
Dave Vescio: I was actually working for CBS News as a television photojournalist. It was fun and easy, and I had as little hours as possible. But I just didn’t really love it like my mentors loved it, and I was looking for something different. I went to teach at Virginia Tech. By then, I knew I wanted to be in front of the camera and thought that maybe I could do reporting or be an anchor. After teaching two semesters at Virginia Tech, I decided that it was acting that I wanted to pursue. In 2001, I started reading acting books and applied to school in New York City.
