The other day, she asked me,
“Why do you love me?”
I didn’t flinch. I simply said,
“I don’t know.”
She laughed, and then came a pause —
“Then how did you know it was me… in the beginning?”
Her question stayed with me.
It pulled me back to the beginning — when we didn’t have labels, but we had something real. When love didn’t announce itself with grandeur, but arrived like a soft breeze — unseen, but deeply felt.
They say love strikes like lightning.
But for me, there was no thunder.
No crash. No dizziness.
It didn’t knock me over.
It steadied me.
It didn’t make me fall.
It invited me to walk — slowly, willingly, without fear.
And that changed everything.
We Let Love Happen
In the early days, we kept it quiet.
A few stolen phone calls.
Secret glances no one noticed.
Not even our closest friends knew.
We didn’t chase it.
We didn’t force it.
There were no dramatic labels.
No need to rush what felt natural.
Love didn’t demand a declaration.
It revealed itself one gentle layer at a time.
Like morning light slipping through a curtain.
We Didn’t Try to Be Impressive
Many people ruin love by trying to win it like a prize.
With rehearsed charm.
With exaggerated stories.
With gifts meant to cover emptiness.
But not us.
She never tried to look grand. I was never pushed to buy her anything.
She never wanted a perfect man — only a present one.
And I never needed her to pretend.
We spoke casually.
We laughed freely.
We came as we were.
And stayed.
We Weren’t Perfect — We Were Honest
I’m shy and hesitant. She’s expressive and quick to react.
But neither of us masked our true selves.
We opened up slowly — flaws and all.
She saw my indecisiveness. I saw her temper.
We didn’t try to fix each other.
We just… understood.
That was enough.
We Wanted Each Other. But Never Possessed.
In the beginning, she couldn’t meet me often.
Family rules, life constraints.
I waited. Not out of compulsion, but care.
There were no questions loaded with suspicion.
No demands to be constantly available.
She didn’t cling. I didn’t control.
We longed for each other, yes.
But never crossed into desperation.
Real love doesn’t bind.
It simply waits.
Because it knows its place is secure.
We Argued. And Still Grew Closer.
We had our moments.
Sometimes, silent gaps would stretch into hours.
But I was always the first to break the silence.
Not because I lost —
but because I loved.
Even her three-dot message…
just that…
meant the world to me.
There was never a need to win an argument.
Only a need to return — to us.
There Was No Big Scene — Just a Simple Knowing
She loves grand celebrations.
I live in simplicity.
She gifts me things often, for no reason at all.
I rarely do, but when I do — it’s not to keep score.
It’s because at that moment, I truly felt it.
There was no proposal with lights and roses.
Just a shared silence.
A look.
A realization.
Love had arrived before we even said the word.
We Never Measured Who Gave More
She trusted me with everything — even in the days when my income didn’t look like much.
I never judged her spending when only I earned.
She handed me her cards and passwords.
And I never checked what she did with them.
Because in real love, there’s no scoreboard.
There’s just giving.
And being grateful that the other person is still standing beside you.
We were partners.
Not competitors.
Always equal — even in our lows.
Real Love Doesn’t Grab You. It Walks Beside You.
It doesn’t rush.
It doesn’t confuse.
It doesn’t demand grand answers to simple questions.
It holds space.
It holds truth.
And most of all — it holds you.
I didn’t fall in love.
I stepped into it.
Not blindly. But bravely.
Not because I had to. But because I chose to.
Over and over again.
What About You?
Have you ever walked into love —
not because it dazzled you,
but because it felt like home?
What did the beginning feel like…
when you knew you’d found something real?
