The ordinary person will take the path they think is the easiest.
The extraordinary person will also take the path they think is the easiest.
One of greatness. Another of mediocracy.
No matter what, life will always provide challenges.
It’s inevitable, like a sunrise in the east.
Embrace “The Suck”
Naturally, you want to hang out with friends and enjoy weekends with extra sleep, outings, and family. We all feel that way.
But, to get what we truly want, we have to embrace “the suck”.
By doing so, we have the freedom to choose our own difficulties in life, rather than life choosing it for us.
What will you achieve by not working for your dreams, and just dreaming about your dreams?
Nothing.
Your life will be the same in 6 months.
That’s one path: easy now, hard later.
Instead, swap ordinary for extraordinary.
Dedicate yourself to chase your dreams. Embrace “the suck”. In just 6 months, you could be in a whole new world of possibilities.
It’s gonna be tough.
But after those 6 months, you won’t even remember how hard it felt.
All that’s left are the results and an insanely powerful and resilient mindset.
Is future-you going to high-five present-you for all the effort?
Absolutely!
Will you be stuck with regret?
I doubt it.
Instead, you’ll feel pleased, proud, and powerful.
Though remember balance.
Like Yin and Yang.
Two dualistic forces — opposite but complementary.
If you skip breaks, neglect doing the things you love, and avoid spending time with friends and family, you’ll have no energy to work.
Yin and Yang are weak on their own. It’s when they come together they form harmony and strength.
Tackling tough challenges is hard.
But what is the alternative?
Stuck in a 9–5 until you finally retire at age 70 because you didn’t go after what you really wanted?
No way.
Remember: in 6 months from now, only outcome is left.
Will you plant the seeds of your dreams in the spring, so you can harvest a bounty of success in the autumn?
The choice is yours!
