My goodness!!
Did you see Kesha’s performance at the Grammy’s??
I’ve never been a fan … but she just foreshadowed the world to come as powerful, brilliant WOMEN surrounded her while she angry-sang her song, “Praying.”
“Praying” is about her survivor experience with big-shot hit-song-maker Dr. Luke, whom she has loudly protested abused her – sexually, physically, verbally, emotionally – and who has responded by denying, dismissing, and counter suing her while refusing to let her out of an exploitative contract with him.
–
“I’m proud of who I am
No more monsters, I can breathe again
And you said that I was done
Well, you were wrong and now the best is yet to come”
–
Doesn’t even matter who you believe is guilty … this is the future.
Women who won’t accept bullshit anymore, up front and center, standing together in their power, expressing their pain, commanding us all to listen.
A wise someone close to me recently said, “It’s probably gonna take the older generation of powerful white men to fade away before we really see change in our country.”
I’d agree with that person, except watching Kesha’s stirring performance tonight, surrounded by so many powerful women, I think change is gonna come faster.
As soon as the next election.
Trump has been a God-send to getting women into politics. They’re signing up in droves to run for office. I got a call not long ago from a woman running for the first time who wanted to get smart on veteran’s issues.
–
“’Cause I can make it on my own, oh
And I don’t need you, I found a strength I’ve never known
I’ll bring thunder, I’ll bring rain, oh
When I’m finished, they won’t even know your name”
–
Change is coming.
Our current government is the last gasp of the old rich, white and male guard.
The Democrats are a disoriented joke. The Republicans are better organized but they’ve become the shame of our nation – at least to everyone who doesn’t watch Fox News.
And a man can’t get away with f**king women over anymore in any industry, not if he wants a job or a life.
Good thing most women can feel more than most of us men can. Otherwise, they’d just turn around and oppress and exploit men the way we’ve done them for ages, because we too often can’t (won’t) feel the pain our actions cause.
If you’re a man and this upsets you, wake the f**k up.
It really has been a man’s world forever. If you didn’t get your fair share of power, it wasn’t a woman who kept you down.
–
“I hope you’re somewhere prayin’, prayin’
I hope your soul is changin’, changin’
I hope you find your peace
Falling on your knees, prayin’”
–
We men better learn how to embrace women in all their wonder and majesty – not just as tools for our use and pleasure.
Time’s they really are a’changing!
It’s largely women who are gonna lead the way.
