Today so feels like a Monday, doesn’t it? It’s cold, windy, and slow-moving.
I walked up to the coffee shop this morning, prepared with my Phlebotomy books and a twenty-dollar bill in my backpack, and saw a homeless man sitting in the frigid morning air with his back against the warm concrete building.
I remembered him from last summer; I gave him my hat one similar day when I walked into the coffee shop, and he was sitting outside in hundred-degree weather in the dry, blazing sun.
All I kept thinking today was how I couldn’t wait to get into the cozy coffee shop and buy myself an extra hot latte. I hesitated mid-way to the counter, thinking, ‘I wonder if he’d like a cup of coffee too?’
He did. And I bought him a cheese danish too.
I hope I made his day because helping him made mine.
Thank you for reading. You are Loved. ❤
