MAGA ‘Political Correctness’ Has Turned Despotic — And Deadly

Remember the quaint ‘good old days’ — just a few short years ago — when conservatives often bitched and screamed about liberal ‘political correctness’ and left-wing ‘cancel culture?’

Today, the situation in the US has completely reversed. Now, we’re seeing rampant ‘political correctness’ and ‘cancel culture’ on steroids — but they’re emanating mainly from the right and the GOP. They are spewing from our resident dictator, Donald Trump, and his MAGA sycophants and yes men (and women). They’re spewing from the mouths of MAGA influencers and self-appointed ‘culture warriors.’ They’re fast becoming the air we breathe and the water we’re swimming in.

Our society is rapidly devolving into a rigid, hateful tyranny where the only things that matter are toeing the MAGA line, condemning the ‘horrors’ of DEI and wokeness, and being totally loyal to Donald Trump. Our entire society is looking more and more like a Mafia crime family on a grand scale, quickly strengthening its iron grip on our nation. Now, we’re all facing frequent, threatening ‘offers we can’t refuse.’

Our descent into hate, racism, and tyranny

Unfortunately, I am not exaggerating. In my mind’s eye, if I compare liberals’ ‘political correctness’ to what we’re facing now, it’s like pitting a mosquito against an elephant. The difference is that great.

As I recall, liberals mainly objected to widespread hate speech and incitement coming from the far right. Plus, they strongly supported DEI and women’s rights as well as ‘identity politics’ with its emphasis on ‘correct’ pronouns.

That’s pretty tame stuff, compared with the social and political onslaught we’re facing under Trump 2.0. Several months ago, I published an article titled “The ‘Logical’ Progression of Hate, Racism, and Fascism” in which I argued that hate and fascism develop in an entirely predictable manner — unless we interrupt and reverse the process. But we didn’t do that. We let right-wing hate and incitement spread, fester, and basically take over our nation.

And the re-election of master manipulator, con artist, sexual abuser (legally as well as throughout the Epstein files), and convicted criminal Donald Trump sealed the deal. It ensured our rapid descent into tyranny.

Blitzkrieg of vengeance

When I describe Trump and the ‘new political correctness’ as an elephant (which is also the actual symbol for the GOP, ha-ha!) vs. a mosquito, I mean to say: it’s an enraged, out-of-control elephant stomping and smashing its way through our society. And again, this is no exaggeration.

Over the past six months, we’ve seen Trump bully, sue, and attack major universities like Columbia and Harvard and major media networks like CBS and ABC. Most of them have capitulated and ‘settled,’ to the tune of many millions of dollars. We’ve seen him demand that left-leaning TV hosts like Jimmy Kimmel be booted off the airwaves (and as we all saw, Trump got his way initially).

We’ve heard Trump openly demand that his political critics and ‘enemies’ be investigated and prosecuted — and lo and behold, it is happening. ‘His’ DOJ is going after former FBI director Comey, intends to prosecute Senators Schiff and Schumer for their ‘crimes’ against Trump, and intends to find reasons to prosecute MAGA’s favorite scapegoat, billionaire Democrat George Soros. We’ve witnessed Trump sending the National Guard or even active-duty military personnel into Democrat-led cities like Washington, D.C., Portland, and Memphis, ostensibly to help ‘fight crime.’ What BS! Overall, crime rates have been coming down, not rising.

The problem is, there is NO end to this authoritarian madness unless we forcefully confront it and put a stop to it. To date, our society has been far too passive and ‘nice’ and has enabled Trump’s tyrannical agenda (thanks for nothing, right-wing Supreme Court seditionists!). Clearly, Trump is a lying, racist, narcissistic bully and control freak — and manipulative, rageful bullies thrive on others’ passivity and weakness.

Without ongoing, effective opposition, antisocial bullies like Trump just keep augmenting their power and getting stronger. And invariably, the societies these bullies rule (think Putin, Orban, Kim Jong Un, etc.) keep getting weaker and more docile as the bullies’ threats, intimidation, and active aggression against their own people become the ‘new normal.’ (God, how I’ve come to hate that phrase. None of this is remotely ‘normal.’)

A long list of Trumpian ‘offers we can’t refuse’

Horrifyingly, that is exactly where US society is right now. Trump’s intimidation tactics and active aggression are rapidly morphing into our ‘new normal.’ In effect, we’ve joined the global Axis of Evil.

Just this week, Trump and his lapdog ‘Secretary of War’ Pete Hegseth hurriedly gathered all our military’s top generals and admirals together — hundreds of them — at Quantico for a mandatory lecture cum Trump rally cum MAGA loyalty test.

Both Hegseth and Trump focused on the ‘horrors’ of DEI and ‘woke’ ideology that are infesting our armed forces — and vowed to root it out. All of it. They demanded that these top military leaders get on board with their MAGA agenda — or else.

As Trump put it, “If you disagree, you’re free to walk out that door. Of course, there goes your rank, there goes your future.”

As I said, now we’re all faced with frequent, threatening ‘offers we can’t refuse.’ To be clear, Trump and his lackeys have expressed in no uncertain terms that:

1. Anyone who opposes or criticizes Trump and his administration is anti-American and should be investigated and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
2. Anyone who is insufficiently loyal or refuses to enthusiastically back Trump’s plans is deeply suspect and should be shunned, sidelined, or otherwise punished.
3. Any media, museum, or educational entity that resists Trump’s censorship (such as his attempts to whitewash our sordid history of slavery) will face his wrath and be subject to lawsuits and endless right-wing harassment.
4. Any government or corporate entity that persists in pursuing ‘horrible’ DEI goals like racial and ethnic diversity, full social and economic equity, and fully inclusive social institutions is directly disobeying and challenging Trump and MAGA and will face severe consequences.
5. Any person or institution that persists in spreading liberal or progressive ideas should be considered a ‘traitor’ to the Trumpian cause — and thus an unpatriotic, actual traitor as well. Then, as night follows day, will come savage political or legal persecution.
6. If you are a woman or person of color or are LGBTQ+, your so-called ‘rights’ are now in question, and you are subject to public scorn, attacks, and increasing persecution and oppression. Anyone who stands up for these groups is guilty of sedition and, worse, anti-Trump ‘un-American’ beliefs and actions. These ‘libtards’ should ALL be condemned and persecuted for their horrid ‘grooming’ (to be socialists, gay, transgender, etc.) of our pure, innocent White children.

If you’re not ‘politically correct,’ you WILL be canceled and severely punished

All of the above items do not comprise a complete list of MAGA’s and Trump’s atrocities. They are merely a sampling of all the vile ‘correctness’ and overt ‘canceling’ that are happening right under our noses — and that we keep allowing to happen.

• Open talk of racial, religious, or gender equality is now verboten. Whiteness rules and Christianity has been declared our ‘state religion,’ in effect if not yet in law.
• Any embrace of ‘woke’ DEI goals or policies is strictly forbidden and warrants swift punishment.
• All concern for the Earth and caring about ecological sanity are now actively discouraged, and all ‘green’ programs and policies are being ‘canceled’ and gutted.
• Any criticism of Trump or peaceful opposition to his deranged ‘policies’ is now verboten.
• Any criticism of Israel’s war machine and/or support for the hapless Gazan Palestinians is verboten and will lead to attacks, indictments, expulsions from colleges, or even deportation.
• Any criticism or negative commentary about Charlie Kirk and his right-wing “Turning Point USA” propaganda machine is grounds for vicious attacks, indictments, loss of jobs, or expulsions from colleges.

We’re seeing obvious, in-your-face despotism and tyranny

Friends, the US is in a very dangerous place now — and the dangers are spreading and intensifying. Today, rightwing ‘cancel culture’ and rabid, Trump-inspired ‘political correctness’ are spinning out of control. The resulting paranoia, fear, racist hate, and rage are palpable.

And a new, utterly un-American phenomenon is gripping the country: rampant, ruthless ‘loyalty tests’ combined with aggressive efforts to label many Americans — lefties, liberal women, Blacks, immigrants, and LGBTQ+ folks — the ‘enemy within.’

At this week’s military convocation, Trump labeled us all as the vicious ‘internal enemies’ of the US, insisting that “America is under invasion from within.” He then informed ‘his’ military officers that we all — the majority of Americans — must be condemned, controlled, and even attacked militarily.

That’s right. Trump seeks to ‘own’ the military and use it for his selfish, deplorable, despotic ends. This is the worst kind of power play; it is far-right ‘cancel culture’ gone totally mad. It’s not just Orwellian — it has now turned definitively Hitlerian.

So, is Trump a Nazi? Is he an authoritarian? Is he a fascist? An autocrat? Or…? In the end, none of these labels matters one bit. What matters is that Trump is a narcissistic bully and tyrant. We know he’s a bully and tyrant by the way he talks, acts, and reacts.

And that’s all we need to know. Trump 2.0, in all its oppressive and hateful ugliness, is on full display for all the world to see. It provides clear evidence of a vengeful, controlling rightwing ‘cancel culture’ that has spun way out of control.

We in the US are now seeing and experiencing rabid, hateful, and obvious (and extensive) rightwing tyranny. There is no room for doubt anymore. The very survival of the US, and many US citizens and immigrants, is now at stake.
