On my testicular cancer and men’s health awareness website, A Ballsy Sense of Tumor, I write all about my personal cancer journey and men’s health in general. Today, I’m giving you bite-sized summaries of what appeared on the blog in December.
In November’s recap, I shared “What’s In Santa’s Sack? 2020 Edition” for ABSOT’s first annual holiday gift guide, featuring books, games, apparel, and more that support testicular cancer awareness and research. Although the holidays are behind us, these are all great gifts for any time of the year!
Each month I feature a fellow testicular cancer advocate and the work they’re doing to raise awareness. In December, we learned about The Max Mallory Foundation. This group was founded after its namesake passed away from testicular cancer. His brother, John-Mark Mallory, shares Max’s story.

In Prostate Cancer: Sheep or Wolf?: Navigating Systemic Misinformation, survivor Murray Wadsworth shares what he wants all men to know about this cancer. In an interview with him, we discussed his thoughts on prostate cancer, what he learned by traveling the world for his care, how he hopes men will start treating their health, and what he hopes men take away from the book.

2020 could best be described as an abnormal year. Nonetheless, I received my normal report after my fourth annual post-cancer scan: still in remission. Read more about my Normal Scan in an Abnormal Year.
I wish 2021 would be less crazy than 2020, but we’re two weeks in and it’s not looking good. Bring on 2022!
That wraps up this month’s recap of A Ballsy Sense of Tumor. Until next time, Carpe Scrotiem.
