Two friends trade texts with pictures of their projects. One will remind you of what is really important.
“This is what I am doing today. What about you?”
Our friend texted back a picture of what he was doing at that moment.
It will make a prefect final resting place for the father he just lost.

This jack-of-all-trades type guy has been mastering some carpentry skills. Normally his stumps of wood are turned into fancy salad bowls or a crooked witch finger but his latest piece is truly his best work.
One can’t help but notice all the finer details, the beautiful grain of the wood and how all the edges are sanded to a smooth perfection, each piece cut with careful precision.
It will make a prefect final resting place for the father he just lost.
When I see this picture it reminds me of a love that a child will always have for their parent and I can’t help but think of my friend’s day as he thoughtfully designed this exquisite woodwork of love.
Each painfully placed nail used to create a final gift for his father.
This picture makes me want to do many things like; sign the kids up for a woodshop class and hug my mom and dad just because I still can.
But this picture also makes me want to practice more random acts of kindness because this life can be hard and you just never know what someone’s had to do in a day.
