Now, the Bishop of Rome has climbed a little closer to Heaven by suggesting a more accurate translation of the Lord’s Prayer. Said by billions of people around the world every day, the prayer contains the phrase, “[God] lead us not into temptation,” but Francis says that’s not a good translation of the original Greek. “It’s not about letting me fall into temptation,” the Pope told reporters last week. “It’s I, the one who falls, not Him pushing me toward temptation.” Social is surprisingly supportive of the clarification, giving “Pope Francis + Lord’s Prayer” 64 percent positive sentiments. There are, of course, plenty of pious people online who say the Catholic leader is dead wrong about the new translation, but many have already adopted the new words. On Sunday, the Catholic Church in France changed its translation of the prayer to reflect the Pope’s suggestion. –Hugo Guzman
