‘Saturday Night’ is out now on Digital
Like many people, I have watched a fair amount of Saturday Night Live over the years. This show has spawned the careers of some beloved comedians. So when I heard a movie telling the story of the first night of this hit show, I was hoping I might somehow get to watch it. I was able to get a digital code for this movie and here is what I thought of it.

You can read the plot for Saturday Night here:
At 11:30pm on October 11, 1975, a ferocious troupe of young comedians and writers changed television – and culture – forever. Directed by Jason Reitman and written by Gil Kenan & Reitman, this film is based on the true story of what happened behind the scenes in the 90 minutes leading up to the first broadcast of SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE. Full of humor, chaos, and the magic of a revolution that almost wasn’t, we count down the minutes in real time until we hear those famous words…

This movie was a total blast from start to finish. The story has a bumpy start as no one seems to believe the first episode is even going to air. It doesn’t help that no one appears to have any idea what the show is even about. Yet Lorne Michaels refuses to let their dream die and does all they can to get the stars and crew ready. Along the way a few tough choices get made, some that upsets a few people. As this film comes to a close, it is safe to say this show is going to be a big hit. ‘The Making of The Movie of the Show that Almost Never Made It’ takes viewers into how this movie came together and how much fun the cast and crew had working on it.
Saturday Night is available now on Digital and comes out on Blu-Ray and DVD January 7th. You can follow this film on Facebook and Instagram.
