This is called life, since our school days, we have been excited about New Year’s events as a moment or a big step toward becoming a superpower human. The beginning of the new year on January 1st is always a time of “new sheet” refreshment, New Year is New You, and so on.
Until I realized that the new year was normal, that being able to gather with family, celebrate small parties, and make new dreams was normal. This is an ordinary, very ordinary incident because the activity can be replaced or carried out tomorrow, next week, two months from now, and so on.
A special day religiously, Indonesia has a high tolerance value always to visit Christian relatives to celebrate this blessing, this has always been a culture since the beginning, but on the other hand, regarding goal setting, smart goals, and the new year being a new you, this is a fake to be applied to the moment of January 1st.
Here I will explain why the year 2022 for the better is a scam if you continue to live in this manner. Let’s keep reading:
1. Excessive Expectations in the Absence of Motion
Let’s be honest: we are lazy, but we don’t want to admit it because we’re afraid of being labeled as ugly, not connecting, looking stupid, or wanting to stay on the safe side.
This is the formulation:
No Effort = 0% & Effort = greater than 1%
Then
Expectation X With No Effort (0) = 0%
Expectation X Effort = 1%
Okay, let me remind you of a quote from James Clear:
The illustration above illustrates why 1% effort is preferable to none. For example :
- If you desire a fit physique and are on a diet to gain or lose weight, you can begin executing 1 movement from YouTube connected to sports and development per day for a long time.
- You want to quit drinking and smoking, so you adjust or lessen the amount you consume each day until you are fully free.
- Do you want to get married? If so, have you ever taken your relationship to a more serious level and begun to plan for it in terms of happiness, mental, religious, economic, and family relationships?
At the start of the time, there isn’t much of a difference between making a choice that is 1% better or worse. To put it another way, it won’t have much of an effect on you right now. However, over time, these modest increases or declines add up to create a large gap between folks who are making slightly better judgments every day. Those who don’t, and those who don’t.
If you get one percent better each day for one year, you’ll end up thirty-seven times better by the time you’re done.
What’s the difference between vision without effort and wishing with effort?
Every day is a new beginning, and you don’t have to wait 365 days to begin. The turn of the year doesn’t mean you have to spontaneously become a super hero or the toughest human being with 1000 percent energy. Take your time, everything is progressing; all you have to do is try to do 1 percent consistently from day to day, month to month, and year to year. When you are progressing rather than stuck, you will be happier.
“ Skills are cheap. Passion is priceless.”-Gary Vaynerchuk
2. Not Enjoying Every Moment
Don’t hurry, don’t hurry. Be calm in the face of adversity. I used to believe that happiness was absolute as a far-reaching position to focus on materialist things, hope that everything is always good, and in the end everything is useless being stressed, panicked, and insecure. Until there is a point of insight from the Teras Philosophy book, which says:
“Man has no power to have whatever he wants, but he has the power not to covet what he doesn’t have, and happily maximizes what he does receive.”- Seneca
“You will never get rich if you constantly follow other people’s opinions.” -Seneca
We always want to celebrate success as an extraordinary stage of life, but we can’t celebrate failure when it affects your self-worth.
As of January 1, 2022, I had failed and successful events.
- Failure event : My blog posts can’t be released on time because they were rejected by a publisher in the United States because several things needed to be revised.
- Success event : The Israel Trade B2B and D2C Organizations invite me to participate in the trade project between Indonesia and Israel.
This will only begin in 2022. This is a happy-feelings-based event (success and failure). We now jump through time using (the past, present, and future).
If you want to be happy, forget about the past and the future; instead, concentrate on living fully in the present.
For example : if you want to win a national competition as a runner, you will train now, establish a healthy lifestyle, and maintain consistency beginning today rather than focused on your past and future. Because you place a premium on rigorous planning and controllable variables.
Other things will happen, such as death in the family, covid waves, natural disasters, political maneuverings, business trends, the abolition of state-owned companies & assets, the value of currency is controlled by the private sector, not the state, which will always change & happen without us realizing it can become the point of bankruptcy of your business, failure of promotion, and job elimination, and you will always focus on the past what has happened.
Don’t do it; instead, concentrate on the present moment and accept both failure and success; appreciate every moment.
🙌 Mantra :
Win Day = Happy Day
Failure Day = Happy Day
3. Unthankful
This does not require explanation; humanity should constantly be grateful for the Creator’s favors.
Take advantage of your good health.
Work or business can be enjoyable.
You can continue to worship.
Conclusion
So if you keep doing this in 2022, 2023, and 20xx, nothing will be improved (nothing will be remarkable).
- Excessive Expectations without Action: Yes, if you merely think without acting, it’s the same as doing nothing; you don’t have to be 100 percent spontaneous; starting at 1% is better.
- Not enjoying every moment, still unable to accept failure, and a need to always succeed. You’re still whining about what you didn’t do in the past. Do what you can so that you don’t grumble. For the time being, you can understand the business of success and failure on your own.
- Ungrateful.
“You only begin to develop, grow, and transform after you’ve moved outside your comfort zone. If you want to be happy, don’t live in the past, don’t live in the future.”- Unknown
