Alright, mate. You know, we are always looking for the best activities to keep our kids entertained, engaged, and happy?
Well… sometimes, the best activity is not about sign-ups, classes, or clubs. It is about time.
Proper, quality time with us, their parents.
Why Time Matters
Think about it, mate. Our kids are growing up fast. They are always bombarded with schedules, technology, and it wont be long until eventually schoolwork is introduced. But what they really crave is us.
They want our attention, our presence, just to be with us.
Psychologists have said it for years. Kids who spend more quality time with their parents are happier, more confident, and emotionally secure.
It is not rocket science, la. It is just common sense.
The Simple Stuff
You do not need to plan big outings or expensive trips. Sometimes, it is the simple stuff that makes the biggest impact.
A walk in the park, cooking dinner together, just chatting about their day.
These moments build bonds and create proper boss memories.
Mental Health Benefits
Our mental health, and our kids’ mental health, is so important. When we spend time together, it is not just about the fun and games.
It is about support, understanding, and feeling valued. Kids need to know they are loved, and not just told. They need to feel it. And guess what?
We need it too.
Personal Touch
For me, spending time with my daughter is everything. She is 18 months old now and every day she is growing, learning, and exploring the world.
I want to be there for all of it.
Not just the big milestones, but the little moments too. The giggles, the cuddles, the “Daddy, look!” moments. They are priceless.
Let’s Talk About Mental Health
We all struggle sometimes. It is part of life. But we need to talk about it openly and honestly.
Do not bottle it up. It is okay to say, “I am not alright.”
It is okay to ask for help. And by being there for our kids, we teach them it is okay to talk about their feelings too.
Make Time
I know life gets busy with work and responsibilities. It is never-ending. But make time.
Prioritise it.
Because one day, our kids will be grown, and these moments will be the ones we look back on.
Do not miss out.
Next time you are thinking about the best activity for your kids, remember this: the best thing you can give them is your time. It is the most valuable thing we have got. And trust me, they will remember it forever.
Nice one!
Keep thriving and inspiring others.
