In a new study conducted by Rare Carat, an online diamond engagement ring retailer, the most Instagrammable state to propose has been crowned.
The findings are based on the average number of Instagram posts tagged with hashtags for popular engagement spots in each state, to name the most and least picturesque.
Finding the ideal place to propose can be a challenge, considering both you and your partner’s preferences as well as the overall ambiance of the location.
New York ranks as the most picturesque state to propose, with an impressive 970,914 average Instagram posts. Popular spots considered include Central Park, Niagara Falls, Times Square, and many other romantic locations ideal for proposals.
Securing second place in the ranking is Florida, with an impressive average of 874,905 Instagram posts. It features popular spots like Walt Disney World, Key West, Clearwater Beach, and Wynwood Walls, among others.
In third is California, which has 797,951 average Instagram posts. Hashtags such as #goldengatebridge, #laketahoe, #napavalley and #yosemitenationalpark all featured in the list of romantic proposal spots.
Nevada ranks as the fourth most Instagrammable state to get engaged, securing 444,596 average posts on Instagram. Many locations were considered such as the Trevi Fountain in Vegas, Fremont Street, and the Bellagio Fountains, among other Nevada spots such as, Red Rock Canyon, and Lake Mead.
Arizona is fifth, garnering 246,949 average posts. Renowned for its natural beauty, the state offers locations like The Grand Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Lake Havasu, and Cathedral Rock, all popular choices for outdoor proposals.
New Jersey secures sixth place with 200,681 Instagram posts. Popular hashtags for the state include #asburypark, #capemay and #libertystatepark, all highly recommended spots for proposals.
Seventh in the ranking is Wyoming, as a state, it achieves an average of 173,456 average posts. Some popular proposal spots here include Yellowstone National Park, Jackson Hole, Grand Teton National Park, and Inspiration Point.
Wyoming’s neighboring state, Montana secures eighth place, with a post average of 162,612. Also included on the list here is Yellowstone National Park, alongside others such as Glacier National Park, Big Sky, Flathead Lake, and Logan Pass.
Indiana, otherwise known as ‘The Crossroads of America,’ is ninth on the list, garnering 155,011 posts on average. Some popular hashtags include #lakemichigan, #indianadunes, #eaglecreek and #garfieldparkobservatory.
Taking the tenth spot is Utah, another state recognized for its natural beauty, with an average of 148,464 posts. Some popular proposal spots here include Zion National Park, Lake Powell, Angel’s Landing and Bryce Canyon National Park.
Following Utah in the rankings are Colorado with 112,234 posts, Louisiana with 108,665, Vermont with 107,139, Washington with 106,829, and North Carolina with 82,443.
