The news is saturated with information about online scammers. The popular ones are those that involve money.
Scammers scam. Their existence depends on it.
Lover Beware
We are warned about what to look out for so that we aren’t the next victim. If questions about your financial status come up soon after the meeting.
It’s time to bounce. Keep moving. Don’t look back.
That’s pretty straightforward. It’s common sense.
It’s amazing at the low effort these crooks put in. Most often their victims are found online.
Their targets have low self-esteem and are lonely.
They’re starving for attention and will take it any way they can get it.
No Diving
The ugly truth about starvation is that your threshold is low. There are no standards. You will go dumpster diving looking for anything close to edible.
Hungry hearts eat lies.
Sweet lies are devoured. Savored. A delicious, decadent treat for the famished.
Con artists play games that have you believing in happily ever after. Again.
New Scam
“You’re smart, and you know what to look out for. You would be able to spot a scam a mile away.” — Everyone
There has never been news coverage of this scam. It’s uncommon. Guaranteed to change the victim’s life forever.
Here’s one for the history books.
Miraculous.
The Perfect Guy (PG) scam
This is a sneaky one to pinpoint. This guy will come across subtly.
Display humility. Chivalry. Intelligence. Financially stability.
He’s generous. Spontaneous.
He’s not just after sex either! He wants intimacy! Hand holding and cuddling too!
It’s like he walked off the page of your vision board.
He’s here to win
He’s the best at what he does. He crushes it.
They raise the bar way f**king high.
A big helping of laughter is served. Jokes and remarks that you later repeat to your friends.
He takes you on dream dates. You gently resist because you don’t want to ask for too much.
He remembers your favorite drink and keeps a good supply of it. Ordered it on every date without you asking.
When you casually mention a book you want to read, it’s yours. A new place that you wanted to check out. Guess where you go on the next date.
PG doesn’t raise an eyebrow when you suggest a costly place for a date.
A heap of sincerity
It’s not just fun dates.
PG taps into your emotions too. He is your shoulder to cry on when shit goes awry.
A great listener who remembers every detail.
He encourages you to be yourself. Relaxed, you trust him with more personal information.
PG is nonjudgmental. He doesn’t agree with everything but understands your point of view on subjects.
This is exactly what you didn’t know you needed.
The job is going so well that your friends are drawn in.
Without meeting him, they approve of his treatment thus far.
High fives are given. Everyone thinks this could grow into something special.
Roller Coaster Romance

Just when you’re about to sigh with relief.

Wait. What? It takes time for the fall gal to realize that this was all a long, complex game.
You were a blindfolded participant in a contest.
You won’t want the game to end. He had an unfair advantage.

Enjoy the ride until the wheels fall off!
That’s your role in the game. Contestants should soak it in. Smile and flirt a lot with the host.
Show up as your higher-vibration self, authentically. Be your fabulous self.
Remain relaxed and poised.
Match their energy. Only if it suits you. While in this dating game, trust your intuition to do its job.
Listen to your body. It always gives you cues if you listen intentionally.
As a contestant, you play your best round. Stick to the game rules.
Plot twist. These aren’t traditional definitions of rules. They are more like guidelines. Loosely interpreted and made up as you go along.
You are the prize!
This is the best part. Carry yourself like the queen that you are. He relishes in your confident, positive aura. Captivated by your self-assurance.
Your boldness intrigues him.
Intense conversations are tools for him to uncover what you crave most.
Armed with the information, poof! Your wish is his command.

What’s the selection process? How are participants chosen?
Spiritually. An angel in disguise. Sent to give you a glimpse of the life that you’re meant to have.
Someone who showers you with affection. Or whatever your love language is. Show up for you at the right time.
Golden Rule
The experience is beautiful.
The golden rule is that you must know how to set it free when it’s time. Like a majestic and beautiful butterfly. They belong in the landscape.
Allow them to move along and enlighten someone else that needs a boost.
Their purpose is to recharge a broken person. Give them those things that are missing from their life.
Romance, laughter, a caring voice, hugs, and a pat on the back. Small gestures that mean a lot.
The After Party
Once the lights dim on the stage, gracefully exit. Contestants are discouraged from looking back. This was an episode of Fantasy Island. Heavy on the fantasy.
Like any other dream, it’s a quick tour then you return to reality.
How does the game end?
The ending is at the discretion of the host. There are creative endings. Dramatic endings.
Someone even faked his death. He announced that he tested positive for Covid. He was never heard of again.
The participant is left dazed and confused. Would someone pretend to have contracted a potentially deadly disease just to end a situationship?
That’s ill.
As the people float in and out, learn to release. I had a guy cancel a date and we never spoke again.
Oh well.
I smiled at the brief history that we had and moved on. No hard feelings. I am truly grateful for the time spent.
