
On the flat that was supposed to be yours.
Kindness easily turns into rent you pay to stay loved. A little agreement here. A little silence there. One “it doesn’t matter” when it does. One, “I understand” when you don’t, you just don’t have the strength to draw the map of basic consideration again.
And no one tells you that you’ve moved into a flat that was supposed to be yours, not rented out to other people’s moods.
The worst of it is that a kind woman is often truly kind. It’s not all performance, not all fear. You have that soft thing in you that wants to help. You see, when someone is struggling. You hear the tone others skip.
And that’s exactly why you have to be careful.
What is most beautiful in you can easily become the way others enter without knocking.
