Just to be clear, what Trump said about women with Billy Bush was not locker room humor.
Now look, I’ve been a guy for 53 years and I can tell you that some crazy-ass, weirdo bizarre conversations go on in locker rooms especially when we talk about women. But I can also tell you that even in those crazy-ass, weirdo bizarre conversations there are definitely a set of unwritten rules about what you do and don’t say.
Trump broke them all.
Let me explain to you how it works. When guys get together we will definitely talk (and exaggerate) about our sexual exploits. We will definitely talk (and exaggerate) about our sexual ability. We will also talk (and exaggerate and lie) about what we would do and who we would do it with if we had the chance to do it with her.
The thing that we don’t do, what we never do, is brag, exaggerate or lie about forcing ourselves on a woman in any way. That would totally kill any locker-room-type conversation. At the very least it would make us respond with, “Dude, that was too far.”
Posturing and bragging and even lying about women is all part of what it is to be a guy. We can’t help it. However, healthy well-adjusted guys don’t swap stories about overpowering women or taking advantage of our power with them. That’s just not cool.
The truth is that behind all this posturing and bragging is the fact that (healthy) men all take pride in our ability to win the hearts of women. Healthy men take pride in our ability to give them the ultimate in (consensual) sexual pleasure. When we brag, exaggerate or tell bold face lies about being with women there is a subtle subtext of the pride we take in honoring and promoting the divine feminine.
It’s true.
Donald Trump has a deep sickness in him; there is a wounding and darkness in his soul. He is clearly a deeply disturbed individual. He does not understand that what he is boasting about is not what men boast about in locker rooms. He says the kinds of things that men find abhorrent.
After hearing what Trump said, no man would ever invite him over to his home where his wife and daughters live.
Trump wasn’t caught in the act of engaging in locker room banter. He was caught in the act of saying and doing what no healthy and well-adjusted man would ever say. He was caught in the act of being 100% Donald Trump.
With all this coming to light, I cannot understand the fathers who continue to support him. What do they say to their daughters? How do they explain to a little girl that a man who would want to take advantage of them, violently grab their private parts and force himself upon them is the type of man that would be the best leader of the United States.
Really. I just don’t get it.
