January 1. Like Christmas, it fell on a Sunday, and like Christmas, we went to church — me and Phi.
It is our thing.

Welcome 2023
During the mass, the priest shared this quote;
And it immediately pulled all the memories of 2022, and there were many. Unlike 2021, when I lost my mom, 2022 was a year that gave birth to a new relationship, and to a role that I never thought I would be playing, a fur parent to PhiPhi and Crocker.
Even my partner knows this, without Phi, it would have been easy for me to have walked away from our relationship. Not, that it’s all that bad, but I’m tired to even try, but even if I wasn’t trying, I was thinking.
I plan to get busy this year, not only to improve my writing but to try to do new things alone and with Phi.
Yes, everything revolves around Phi.
. . .
I can no longer think of 2022, it’s in the past and so were the years before that. I need to stop looking back, there is no point in relieving the hurt and pain of the past.
Life is just that, it was nothing personal.
All of it, for better or worse made me the person I am today. For that, I can only say thank you.
I want to be free of my past so I can enjoy the present.
The future is too abstract that thinking about it is a waste of time.
We have all heard it before,

Welcome the New You In the New Year
As we welcome 2023, it’s a great time to think about ways to improve ourselves and welcome the “new us.” Here are a few tips to get you started:
- Set goals: Take some time to think about what you want to achieve in the new year. Whether it’s a personal goal, like learning a new skill, or a professional goal, like getting a promotion at work, setting goals can help give you direction and motivation.
- Take care of your physical health: Eating a healthy diet, getting enough exercise, and getting enough sleep can all help you feel better physically and mentally.
- Work on your mental and emotional health: Practicing mindfulness, managing stress, and focusing on gratitude can all help improve your overall well-being.
- Embrace your unique style: Whether it’s through your clothes, your hobbies, or your personal interests, finding ways to express yourself can help you feel more confident and comfortable in your own skin.
- Surround yourself with positive influences: Seek out supportive friends and family members who can help encourage and motivate you on your journey toward self-improvement.
Remember, it’s never too late to make a change and welcome the new you. Happy New Year!

Final words
As the mass ended, a question lingered on my mind.
If words trigger me, how can I respond with love?
If things don’t go as planned, how can I respond with love?
If people hurt me, how can I respond with love?
. . .
On my Facebook page, I shared;
Because now I know, there is a greater love, and that is in loving yourself.
I’m excited about 2023, and I hope you are too.
Welcome the new you, I know I will be welcoming a new — me.
Thank you 2022; 2023, yes.
. . .
Thank you for reading.
