I had a dream that I awoke to a note placed conspicuously under my coffee maker that said, “Your wish has been granted. It is impossible to fail.”
And then I woke up. For real. But was left thinking…
Hmm…what if this was true? What if I knew it was impossible to fail? How would this reality change the way I go about my work? My life?
Would I be frightened to start something?
Would I be concerned about looking ridiculous?
Would I hesitate?
Would I make excuses for why I wasn’t doing the work?
Would I daydream about doing something more awesome?
Would I wander aimlessly looking for my ‘thing’?
Would I be scared to say what I wanted to say?
Would I be embarrassed about things that may look to be failures or flaws?
Would I be so on-edge and insecure about my parenting foibles?
Probably not…
If I knew I could not fail, I’d get going, right now, knowing that I’d achieve what I set out to do.
If I knew I could not fail, I’d see my blunders and missteps as part of the journey towards success.
If I knew I could not fail, my mind would breathe a huge sigh of relief.
If I knew I could not fail, I’d relax into my life more, knowing—really knowing—things would work out.
If I knew I could not fail, my mind would feel liberated and free to create.
If I knew I could not fail, I’d be eager to stretch the limits of my physical, mental, and emotional boundaries.
If I knew I could not fail, I’d spend less time daydreaming about success and more time living it.
If I knew I had a prearranged and inevitable success waiting for me in the future, I’d have a tremendous surge of vitality and freshness.
What if I lived this way right now? What if I lived by this script…
Act as if it were impossible to fail.
I feel the life coming back into my senses as I speak these words. I feel my mind expanding as it breaks the chains of the illusion of failure it’s so long believed. I feel a new vitality in my step and a fire in my soul.
Get behind me, failure. Get behind me.
