Have you ever been there? At the end of a relationship or a long, toxic marriage, how do you get past the time spent together and the memories built?
The many years of blissful yearnings and countdowns to communal endings. From loving the first time you saw them to loving but letting them go.
Have you ever considered the specifics of how it happens? Loving can hurt; in some situations, it can be so hurtful that you’d be free of love, but you just can’t let go.
This article is about how men forget someone they love, mainly what it takes to forget someone they once loved.
It’s certainly different for individuals, but most men react similarly in such situations.
…
When it happens, you’re all thinking about ‘breaking bad.’
Everyone at the end of a relationship knows what it means and how it feels. Especially when you are on the receiving end of the pain, all you are thinking about is breaking bad.
If you’ve had siblings who suffer the pain of an awful heartbreak, you’ll know how devastating it can be. Some folks have lost their lives while getting deep in thought about a relationship they’ve just lost.
It gets really painful if you didn’t issue the ending papers or emotions.
- You start to see that you are not so good at goodbyes, even though you can now see that they don’t truly love you.
- You start to imagine that you might not be able to live life without them.
If you’ve ever broken a man’s heart as a woman. That was how you made him feel, and if you’ve ever wondered how he shook it off and lived life without you, this was how he pulled it off.
1. He never denied every tear
“Nothing hurts more than being disappointed by the one person who you thought would never hurt you.” — Gugu Mofokeng
All men know that the pain can drown your vision. Heartbreaks are tougher for men if you do not know or haven’t heard it.
Men at the receiving end of divorces have difficulty facing the truth and moving on with life.
So when you broke up with him, he lost his focus, ego, and reason for being a man. All that’s left is dropping, getting overwhelmed, and being moved to tears.
I have once been through a brutal heartbreak, and forgetting her was challenging. It was as complex as trying attempting to catch air with my hands.
I survived only because, deep down, I knew the best thing was to give in to my emotions, but only in the right way.
What it takes for a man to be someone he once loved is first to ensure he doesn’t deny every tear. That was how he survived; because of the ego, he was lost in his mind, piecing the puzzle together and explaining how it all happened to himself.
If you’ve got a friend, brother, or son who has just experienced heartbreak, all you have to do at the beginning is be present.
Please don’t interfere with his thought process. Let him take it all in and accept every tear. Let him give it meaning as he so pleases.
2. He tables your name and begins to see more clearly
There comes a time when all men become vulnerable and become villains of love.
For most good men, it’s usually a series of painful and eye-opening discussions with close friends. For men with irresponsible friends, it could be a time for a series of unplanned sex, drinking, smoking, or any addictive coping mechanisms.
They become the most dangerous men to fall in love with.
Know now that the good guy whose heart you broke spoke all about you with your mutual friends. Yes! They are all accomplices.
All those friends he had who loved you and collectively cared for you said terrible things about you.
In most cases, if the woman was genuinely bitter and irresponsible, after weeks of discussion with friends, the man will start to see more clearly and accept why the heartbreak was necessary.
Now, he begins to truly forget about her as he adopts a transparent and open mind.
3. He starts to give it to everything
Some folks will break your heart but will eternally fix your vision. Men know what this means.
If you’re a woman who has broken a man’s heart, you might not know it, but you might have fixed their focus and vision at that point.
The phase gets more uncomplicated for men once they have fed their ego and troubling mind by brooding and accepting every tear. They start to give it to everything.
Sports! Work! Games! Family! Friends! Dream!… he begins to give it to everything.
This is why it takes men so long to return to the dating pool. They give off so much energy while in love and must find a new endeavor to receive it.
4. He creates a not-so-thoughtful image of you
If you’ve ever dated a highly focused man, you’ll know their taste in women is almost unmatchable.
It’s usually a long list of buts, ifs, and maybes they never want to endure with any other woman. No focused man dates the same kind of woman after a heartbreak.
So, he was able to finally able to forget you by adding your character, attitude, and memories to the blacklist of women he would never be with again.
The list goes as far as being eternal and affects men when their sons bring home wives. They begin to access the woman based on the blacklist of characters, attitudes, and memories they had. That proves the pain of a heartbreak never truly leaves. There will always be scars to remind you of the pain.
Such is the list they keep unintentionally, which might affect their son’s life choices.
When it happens, it seems impossible.
When experiencing heartbreak, men can be brought to a state of lonely suffering, a mindset that could make them lose their identity or will to go on with life.
- Some folks have lost their loved ones to the unbearable waves of heartbreak.
- Some mothers would never witness their sons bring home a wife till their passing, all because they had a heartbreak that made time move so slowly.
Now, if you’ve ever wondered how any man moved on from a heartbreak you served… he did it by;
- Not denying any tear
- Speaking about it with like minds
- Giving the same energy to something else
- Adding you to the blacklist
Love is a treacherous game of the heart. It can make you feel like you’re falling free in joyous moments or entangled in a never-ending knot.
I hope everyone who has been jilted by love gets worthwhile redemption.
