Perusing articles and social media over the years related to the current occupant of the Oval Office, it’s easy to see that a great deal of attention is focused on the changing skin color, hair color and style, and indication of incontinence and the wearing of adult products to accommodate the evidence of physical decline. While it might make for ongoing conversation and ridicule of a man who prides himself on his appearance and illusion of virility, it serves no practical or valuable purpose. I don’t name call.
A big reason why I don’t talk about it when I write articles about him is that there are too many other aspects of the man that do call for attention. Yes, the biological and psychological deterioration are becoming abundantly noticeable. The swollen ankles that speak of circulatory problems and possible Congestive Heart Failure or Venous Insufficiency, the bruising on his hand, the unsteady gait and imbalance when he stands (leaning forward or in a recent photo, standing in a straddling pose) are all reason for concern for his health.
At 79, despite what his doctors are told to say, he is not a healthy human specimen. Many men his age eat a nutritiously sound diet. He doesn’t, preferring to indulge in fast food. Many men his age still have a fitness routine (my dad did until Parkinson’s hobbled his daily workouts). He doesn’t, with the only two forms of regular exercise involving ambling around a golf course and running his mouth. The first he does, on the taxpayer’s dime and the second he does at all hours of the day and night. His late night forays into social media word salad, cost him hours of much needed sleep each night. One danger is sleep deprivation psychosis. Nodding off in meetings is likely a direct result.
And his cognitive tests that he “ACED”? To hear him talk, they were points of pride, rather than diagnostic tools administered out of concern for cognitive decline.
The words he chooses are deliberately inflammatory and demeaning. The majority of media interviews or press conferences he does, ultimately lead to dismissive and insulting comments if the journalist dares to ask him point blank, something he doesn’t want to answer. Take the most recent interview with the incomparable Norah O’Donnell on 60 Minutes following the alleged assassination attempt at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
When she got to the part of the interview that addressed the Manifesto written by Cole Allen, a dramatic shift took place in Tr*mp’s demeanor. Where before, he had been expressing bluster and bravado, at this point, his eyes narrowed and lips pursed. He took on a snake like appearance as he hissed his response.
NORAH O’DONNELL:Â The so-called manifesto is a stunning thing to read, Mr. President. He appears to reference a motive in it. He writes this quote, “Administration officials, they are targets.” And he also wrote this, “I am no longer willing to permit a pedophile, rapist, and traitor to coat my hands with his crimes.” What’s your reaction to that?
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: Well, I was waiting for you to read that because I knew you would because you’re– you’re he– you’re horrible people. Horrible people. Yeah, he did write that. I’m– I’m not a rapist. I didn’t rape anybody.
NORAH O’DONNELL:Â Oh you think– do you think he was referring to you?
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: I’m not a pedophile. Excuse me. Excuse me. I’m not a pedophile. You read that crap from some sick person? I got associated with all– stuff that has nothing to do with me. I was totally exonerated. Your friends on the other side of the plate are the ones that were involved with, little’s say, Epstein or other things. But I said to myself, “You know, I’ll do this interview and they’ll probably”– I read the manifesto. You know, he’s a sick person. But you should be ashamed of yourself reading that because I’m not any of those things.
I wonder if he truly thinks that he has never sexually assaulted anyone, that the incidents were all consensual or that he believes they never happened, despite testimony, victims’ statements and the E Jean Carroll verdict. Â Like many pathological liars, he has himself convinced that what he says is true. The thing is, with him, every accusation is an admission. And like many with narcissistic traits, he likely can’t imagine anyone he wanted wouldn’t want him.
I was watching the broadcast, eager to hear what utter nonsense he would spew when the interruption occurred. My heart wasn’t pounding as it was on 9/11 and J6. That, to me, was an indicator that things weren’t as they appeared.
I have questions about the unfolding aspects of that night. How did the alleged assassin get from California to DC with his armory, get into the hotel, rent a room, assemble the weapons and have them at the ready to go hurtling through the lobby? How was he able to book a room on the night before the dinner, when it would make sense that it would be sold out, unless he did it months before? How were so many Secret Service agents so inept that he slipped through their fingers? And the mixed reports; first he was dead, then subdued. Then he shot an agent and then it was called ‘friendly fire’. In the dining room evacuation, there was a sense of urgency to get JD Vance out, but seemingly not DJT. Some journalist ducked for cover and others kept eating. I had heard that some people absconded with bottles of wine and bubbly.
Another pressing question was how was it a good idea to have everyone in the line of succession in that room at the same time? I am not a conspiracy theorist, but it boggles the mind how all of these things fell into place as they did and how if it was a ploy to give him yet another platform to talk about his beloved ballroom plans, why would he choose to show up at a public venue if he didn’t deem it safe? He then asked to ‘let the show go on’ and resume the party. If he felt endangered, why would he want to return to the scene of the crime? He determined that the alleged assassination attempts were because he was consequential and got things done. He contends that negative rhetoric coming from Dems stirs the desire in some to attack him, disregarding the vile and vicious things he has said and done.
I shake my head in absolute bewilderment that the insanity continues and that every stirred up pot of chaos is meant to be a distraction from the Epstein files. Like most people I know, I wonder how the story will wind to a close. What I do know is that it is hard for wounds to heal, if someone keeps attacking and re-injuring. I will continue to sound the alarm.
