I was a writer long before I became an author.
I wrote my first story when I was eight.
At seven, I memorized a poem and recited it aloud.
The class voted for me — not because I was the most popular,
but because of how I spoke the words.
The cadence. The feeling.
That moment meant everything to me.
I guess I’ve always had a love affair with words —
the way they roll off your tongue,
the juxtaposition of one word against another —
the way contrast makes them pop.
I love how you can describe a scene so vividly —
people can see it, feel it, taste it.
But still … for years,
I didn’t call myself a writer.
We often wait …
for a title,
a paycheck,
someone else’s permission.
But if you’re writing … you’re a writer.
If you’re painting … you’re an artist.
If you’re speaking your truth …you’re a storyteller.
So let me ask you:
— What’s important to you?
— What are you longing to create?
You don’t have to wait for the world to see it.
You get to name who you are — NOW.
Because creating is healing.
It gives you a voice.
It brings what’s inside —
out into the light.
As Wayne Dyer said,
“Don’t die with your music still inside you.”
#DreamDeclareEmbody
— What’s aching inside of you that longs to be expressed?
— What do you need to claim — or reclaim?
Create it.
Name it.
Embody it.
And as Nike says —
Just do it.
— What’s one small step you can take today to unleash your creativity — to bring what’s inside you out into the light?
