1. Marriage? Yeah, Maybe Not
Remember the good old times when marriage used to be a sacred bond?
Well, at least that’s what we have been told.
Just a couple of years ago, getting married was part and parcel of an adult’s life. You were supposed to grow old together, raising your kids with love and preparing them for this world.
Well, let’s just say it’s not exactly on every guy’s to-do list anymore. And it’s not because they don’t want love, companionship, or Netflix nights with someone special.
Men have started opting out. And no, not because we’re jerks or commitment phobes.
There’s a deeper reason, and it’s one that no one wants to hear.
2. The Risk Isn’t Worth the Reward
Marriage is often pitched as a “happily ever after” deal.
Pull back the curtain, and it’s a bit more like “take this huge financial and emotional risk for a ‘maybe.’”
And the rising divorce rates aren’t exactly comforting either.
And when divorces finally happen, men often find themselves being robbed of their earnings, savings, and kids.
3. The Expectations Keep Piling Up
Thanks to social media, the expectations from men in marriages have gotten ridiculous.
Have six pack abs, make six-figure income, provide emotional, financial, physical, and spiritual support when your partner needs. You name it.
Oh, and of course don’t expect anything back in return, or you’ll risk being labelled “needy”.
No thanks, my to-do list is already too long.
…
Men are simple creatures. And no, they’re not choosing a life of loneliness over marriage out of spite.
They’re seeking out relationships that feel more like partnerships, less like contracts – something that’s as rare as finding a unicorn.
