I know!
You must think I’m crazy to say that breaks are also good in marriages, but almost all couples have them without even knowing it.
There is a saying that “After every conflict comes a stronger bond”. I’m not sure how true it is, but I’m pretty sure about the reasons you should have a break in your relationship.
…
When Are Breaks Needed
When do you apply breaks when driving?… Yea, see what I just did there.
That’s the same way it is in relationships. If you do not see any obstacles or changes in your partner, then there is no need to want a break.
You might as well ask yourself this question.
A break from what?… Is it from the excessive love you are receiving or the intense affirmations you are getting?
Don’t deceive yourself. There is no reason to play the break card when your man is still acting right.
But a pause is always needed, whether the relationship is perfect or not.
Okay! Not a pause per se, but you can call it “slowing down the burning furnace.”
That is exactly what happens in some marriages. Unconsciously, many couples have had their craziness for one another reduced in one way or the other at a particular time.
In some way, the pause will stop some ill attitudes and solve some issues in their marriage, but they wouldn’t know themselves.
That is to show that breaks and pauses are good too, but why should they be embraced?
Why You Should Embrace More Breaks and Pauses
Love confirmation
This specific reason for a break is good for people who are in one-sided relationships.
If you are in one or you know someone who is in one. This is the best solution for them.
Tell them to ask for a break from their partner, and even the immediate reply of the partner can make them realize if they are still wanted.
- If he-or-she asks why and persists about not wanting the break, then there is still hope for your love somewhere — it’s probably just dying for a reason.
- If they are quick to second the motion for a break, then you know the truth — Your partner has either zeroed their mind or you have been dating yourself for the longest time.
Realization sake
Sometimes we might be the main predicament of our problems.
You know that what you want is different from what you need. Right?
Everyone knows that bit of truth. But like every other truth, it is bitter to swallow.
That’s why some girls would keep putting up with guys who maltreat and rape them for reconciliation, other than settling for someone who would cherish them for who they are.
If you want to know whether your present partner is what you really want. I advise you have a break, just to see if your brain would seize the love controlling steering from your heart and make you realize you are dating the wrong one.
Focus reignition
As much as I don’t want to say this, I know some married couples who take pauses for this particular reason.
They stay in the same house but would leave separately at times when one of them is working on a piece or a project, just so they can be very focused.
And no it’s not just for a day, it could last for weeks. There would be communications, but not the regular day-to-day communication.
It is also advisable for young unmarried folks. You might not want to say it, but your lover may not allow your concentration on certain things.
If you wish to perfect that pursuit, then you have to go on a pause.
NB: Ensure they are aware of the pause, so you don’t create a loophole in the relationship.
Re-fixing the fire
In most cases, the aftermath of this is usually a makeup sex.
But breaks are always good if you both feel the fire. Especially when you are both free with each other.
You both know you are in love and crazy about one another. You are also both sure there is no intruder in the picture. But something is not just right.
Well, a break might be the answer. Again, it doesn’t have to be a full break, it could just be a pause. If you were both full-time voice callers, why not switch to mere chats and fewer calls per day.
Yes! You can still talk every day, but ensure that a proper reduction in the regular activity is actualized.
When you do get back from the break, you will both be better and stronger at love.
Lastly
Pauses and breaks can be likened to control valves. They are used to measure the certain actions, analyze, and flip the switch in relationships. It is better to understand and utilize them when necessary than to stay away from them totally.
