This is the song that hums to you from the seat of your soul. And it is the homecoming that you and I are trying to return to.
Belovedness…
What if I told you that God or The Universe or The Existential Ground of Your Being (whatever you want to call it — I call it God because it’s one syllable and easy) favored you. You might look around like, “But what about them?” I’m not talking about them. I’m talking about you. You might look around again and say, “But does God know the twisted shit that ran through my head on the way to work this morning?” And I’d say, yes. She does. And then I’d say that it’s a really good thing that you are not the source of your Belovedness. You cannot earn it. It is not a reward for good behavior. It is a blessing from on high that’s way bigger than you. You are merely the receiver and passer-on of this divine Belovedness.
Belovedness is yours. It’s always been yours. May this be your invitation.
This song is constantly calling you back to your Belovedness. You can either trust this song. Or you can trust the voice of The Accuser in your head and in the world.
What if you trusted the song? Might things look different for you? Might that change your center of gravity as you move through your life?
If it takes me to say it, I’ll say it. Belovedness is yours. It’s always been yours. May this be your invitation.
