See how one remarkable man is giving back & making wishes come true.

“It’s up to you.” That’s the simple motto of a simply inspiring man, who was inspired at a very young age by a book with the motto as a title by Earnest Holmes.
You’ve likely never heard of Robert Brown, an 80-year-old, former cop, FBI agent and civil rights activist, onetime friend of Martin Luther King Jr., advisor to the Mandela family and former White House Cabinet member, but he’s a true Architect of Change.
Despite his already-impressive resume, Mr.Brown has been on an equally-impressive mission for the last 30 years. After learning that thousands of books were banned during the South African Apartheid, he started the International Booksmart Foundation in 1988 and has donated over five million books to children throughout Africa over the last three decades.
But, there was a problem, Brown’s warehouse wasn’t able to handle the huge volume of books he received. Enter UPS and their Wishes Delivered program. In three days time, 50 volunteers from the shipping company transformed his cluttered warehouse into an organized shipping-ready operation, which UPS & Brown estimate will ship more than 180 tons of books to schools across Africa over the next three years.
“All that’s gonna count in the end, as my grandmother said, is how much good that you do,” says Brown, adding, “If you want to do something with your life, it’s all up to you.”
