Imagine what the world would be like if our parents told us this daily from a young age – “You’re the BEST in the world.” For some this might be a true reality of their upbringing and now are passing onto their children. For most of us this hasn’t happened as the conditions have been passed from one generation to the next whereby we don’t believe in our hearts that we are the BEST in the world.
I’m starting this with my children today. It took a lot of Spiritual Fitness work to get to a place of saying I’m the BEST in world. No one one showed me the ropes or gave me a platform to do it. What does it mean to be the BEST in the world? It simply means to be the BEST version of yourself.
What sparked this piece was a conversation I had with a friend of mine who is an Olympic champion wrestler and now is teaching coaches how to teach wrestling to young children. We both talked about how sometimes the parents want the championship more then their own kid. Why is that? The underlying message is something is missing in the parent’s heart. Sorry parents, this is spiritual truth that is not being taught in the world today. Our children are gifts from God that are lent to us for a period of time to teach us love, kindness, compassion, patience. Our children are our teachers. They are teaching us to dig deep in our hearts to be at peace of WHO we are. Accept WHO we are and be the BEST version of ourselves.
Truly from my perspective to be the BEST parent on the planet is to be my BEST self. Now this BEST- self stumbles, makes mistakes, becomes impatient, at times. However because of my spiritual fitness practice, I’m in position to continue to improve upon these mishaps daily. Living a spiritual fitness life is a daily commitment to be my BEST self on a daily basis and in turn be the BEST person I bring into the world.
Living a life of being the BEST in the world is helping me connect with others that are on the same path. Being the BEST in world is not about how many dollars you have in the bank, or the career you have or being an Olympic athlete. Being the BEST in the world is having the commitment to take care of our own Body, Mind and Spirit for the highest good.
By taking care of ourselves (inner work) we are setting in motion a higher plane for ourselves to serve in the way we were created. We are loving human beings by nature and all of us have our own unique way in displaying this love to our neighbor, our children, our partner and to the world.
Enjoy being your BEST-self in the world. There is only one of you might as well be the BEST.
Live Brave,
Chris
