Mickey Fuertes is searching far and wide for things men find funny. You in?

My wife and I do not find the same things funny. As an example, my six-year-old son just tripped over his race car play set and fell (don’t worry, he’s ok…I think). I found this to be absolutely hilarious. She did not. While, superficially, this may seem like another moment where my latent immaturity has risen to the surface, I believe it speaks to a deeper, fundamental truth about what men find funny. Unfortunately, I’m not sure what that “hidden truth” is nor why it surfaces at the most inopportune times (i.e. when my children trip and fall) but this is where you come in.
I am the new Editor of the Good Men Project’s Humor Section. In this section, we will be curating, editing and posting the absolute funniest content we can find from across the glorious digital landscape. The content can be multi-media (written, video, audio, cartoons, etc.) but it can also be about humor – who do we find funny, what is the value of humor, why do we find certain things funny (like when my kids fall down) and how all of those subjects contribute to our definition of “manhood”.
I am really excited to be undertaking this adventure. Partly because this is a conversation I am sincerely interested in driving but mostly because I am looking forward to putting my immaturity to good use. Please label your submissions as “Humor” and make sure to follow the Good Men’s Project’s submission guidelines (click here for details and to submit) because poorly written pieces are never funny.
Now let’s get to it!
