Love combats bullying. This band of brothers proved it.
This.
Helping each other. It’s what we do. The newspapers can read otherwise. And the hit television shows can glamorize the otherwise. But the fact we humans are still here, through the horrible things we’ve done to each other and through the catastrophic events we’ve had happen to us, shows that what lies deep in our fundamental way of life is not hatred and indifference, but love and compassion. We bully, but we aren’t collectively bullies. We compete. We cheat. But these pale in comparison to our collaboration, our integrity. In his epic book, “In the Descent of Man,” Charles Darwin wrote only twice about “Survival of the Fittest.” Guess what he mentioned 95 times? Love.
