Enter the world of nomadic lifestyles. This world appeals to Millennials mostly since many of them are digital nomads. This trendy lifestyle has gone from being a coveted way of life for retirees to a lifestyle that almost anyone can start living now.
Generation Z is embracing nomadic lifestyles as a default way of life in their young adulthood. There are numerous nomadic lifestyles that offer flexibility to adapt to your current situation. Many people are getting creative to find solutions to address current challenges like parenthood, a home mortgage, or any other long-term financial commitment.
As a single male with no children and a low amount of debt, I have more flexibility than the average person to choose my ideal nomadic lifestyle and switch to a different one whenever I deem it necessary.
On June 2015, I moved to Mexico to live there for the next 12 months. During that time, I have lived in San Miguel De Allende and Tequisquiapan, both of which are colonial towns located in Central Mexico. At that time, I was doing freelance writing for several clients as well as working on my own projects.
If you have a sellable skill online, you can do it too. Perhaps, you may not be a great writer, but you can sell your services including (but not limited to) graphic design, photography, video production, social media marketing, or search engine optimization.
What if you don’t have any skills in any of the mentioned fields? You can learn skills by taking free online courses with HubSpot or Coursera. Many people spend two to four years in college for a major that requires them to take unnecessary classes. Why not just learn what you really need to apply in the real world?
Within six weeks, I received my certifications in inbound marketing, content marketing, email marketing, and Google Analytics without paying a dime. With the continual rise of online marketing, it will continue to be an in-demand skill for a long time.
So, if you don’t have an online skill yet, start by developing an interest in one. With a sellable online skill, you can live anywhere in the world. That freedom is priceless!
