Why Can’t I Get A Decent Cell Phone Signal Where I Live? Why Are Plants On My Property Looking Like They Are Being Dusted With Chemicals And Fried? Why Does The Sun Look So Bright And White, When It Used To Be Yellow? How Did One Man Shoot So Many People In Las Vegas? Why Do So Many People Believe The Nonsense They Are Told To Believe? A Good Man Is Not Supposed To Believe In Lies Because It Is Inconvenient Not To.
I can’t get a good enough cell phone signal to make a phone call from where I live because, although the company I use claims to have the best cell phone coverage in the United States, that doesn’t include me. When they put up a cell phone tower a mile away from where I live I thought this might help. It didn’t.
The picture taking has been great. The sunlight used to be the best for image capture in the morning and late afternoon. Now the Sun is very bright the whole time it is up. The images I capture include vegetation that looks like it is fried. I see leaves that look like the plant has cancer.
I like to take pictures of clouds too. I have seen clouds in the sky like I have never seen before. That in a way is interesting. That in a way is disturbing.
I don’t watch television much at all anymore. When it is reported on television a man with many guns can shoot that many people in Las Vegas, I am not encouraged to watch more.
I am beginning to think I am living in some alternative universe to the one most folks are living in. People I have talked to think I may live too close to the new cell phone tower for it to help me make a phone call.
They think what I am seeing in the way of leaves is what leaves do in the Fall and that the Sun has always been this bright and this white. The sky, I’m told, is pretty much the way it has always been. Maybe there is more air pollution then before and if so that might be Donald Trump’s fault.
As for what went on in Las Vagas, while I have not been told I can trust everything reported on CNN is accurate, I have been told to do so is a better bet than believing any source that could be considered to be informed by a conspiracy theory of some sort.
Most people have lost their ability to use their own eyes and their own minds to prevent believing obvious lies. Eyes are kept busy looking for sources of income and quality entertainment. Minds lack the attention capacity to discern most of what is going down nearby, not to mention far away.
Much of the problem is believing lies reduces fear. Many people fear needing to limit them self to basic cable services due to economic hardship. Quality entertainment is so difficult to come by even if you can afford the cost of admission. What if you couldn’t even afford the seats with an obstructive view? Not believing a popular lie can lead to having more to worry about. Who needs that?
Blocking out awareness of obvious lies can take many forms. One of the most popular filters is the popularity filter. That is if most people believe it it is probably true.
Most people claim that they don’t trust Federal, State or County governments, but they do for the big and important stuff.
Most people believe news reporting leaves out stories that might upset the people who are paying the news reporters. They don’t believe they would knowingly lie to us.
Most people believe there are experts that could, or are working on, explaining why popular views are the best. Most people know they they are not one of these experts.
Then there are the filters against considering unpopular views. Evidence provided is deemed wrong because the provider is trying to make some money off of anyone interested. Any image provided by a popular source provides proof that alternative images are provided by Photoshop.
A big filter is not wanting to think much about why who is paying for or intimating the popular liars to lie.
Truth is I’m not sure what I want. Do I really want more people to believe that there is electronic equipment on that new cell phone tower that will not only not help me, but was put there to harm me?
Do I really want more people to believe in the possibility that a solar simulator and a brew of chemical aerosols are doing what they are doing to the plants around my house and around the world?
Do I really want more people to believe nothing that is reported on their television sets?
I guess I do. I just don’t know how to do much about that myself.
I am not an expert on anything. I have no insider contacts. I have had no supernatural communication. I am not a celebrity. What can I do?
I have grown weary of being considered a know-it-all or paranoid, or suffering from mental deterioration due to old age or a gullible consumer of online information.
I am most easily silenced by, “If what you think is true, what are you going to do about it?”
Truth is I am not going to call up Verizon, CNN, or the Environmental Protection Agency because I know I will just be lied to in a more personal way.
What I plan on doing is to keep doing my dishes and laundry and mowing my lawn. I need to remember my car is up for inspection this month. I will keep taking pictures with my cell phone and keep using my landline for phone calls. I will keep my eyes open for affordable entertainments.
I will continue to believe the popular exposure of any of these lies will not lead to much. Those doing the lying are much too powerful.
I will keep enjoying the beauty I still encounter in this world as I dream of the unimaginable worlds I will encounter after my time here is done. I will keep having faith that what is wrong and covered up by lies in this world will, in time, be addressed by a power beyond my comprehension.
I will continue to write for The Good Men Project. Part of my former identity as a man was believing in popular opinions and the lying experts and authorities that sold them to me.
It is a great comfort to be able to post to The Good Men Project as a way of sharing unpopular and not at all unique views. The Good Men Projects endorses none of my observations, while existing for me to be able to share my stories related to striving to be a good man.
I believe there are many good reasons for a man not to do anything when they discover they have been lied to and no good reason to believe lies just because it is inconvenient.
