“I’ll stay with her,” he said without hesitation.
I was so relieved. Now I wouldn’t have to worry or hire a dog-sitter while I was at a concert over the weekend.
“Thank you so much,” I said. We hugged and rubbed noses.
He was willing to give up his Saturday night for me (and my beloved Rhodesian Ridgeback, Belle).
I sent him photos from the concert and he texted me about Belle’s dinnertime drooling and her goofy reaction to a cricket in the kitchen.
I arrived home to copious wags and wet kisses.
That’s when I knew it was love.
