There are going to be moments when life throws you the ball and inevitably it slips through your hands, or knocks you off your feet because you weren’t quite ready. NFL veteran Fendi Onobun shares his philosophy for success in four easy steps that will help you score big in life.
1st Down – Faith
You have to have faith and believe in yourself. No matter what it is you’re doing, if you don’t actually believe you can do it, it’s not going to happen. 90% of achieving a dream, task, or goal is mental.
2nd Down – Investment
You must be willing to invest time and energy into whatever it is you’re trying to achieve. Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard. When you put in the time, it doesn’t guarantee success, but it gives you a better chance to achieve it!
3rd Down – Risk
Take a risk! Don’t be afraid to take calculated risk. Key word: calculated. You’ve thought it out and it somewhat makes sense, but at the end of the day you know you can bet on yourself to get the task done. That’s a calculated risk. In order to move forward in life you have to be willing to take some risk. You’ll never get too far in life “playing it safe.”
4th Down – Finish
Once you’ve decided on what you want to do, see it through and finish the task. A lot of times we do things or start projects and never finish them. Finish what you start. It doesn’t even matter if it takes longer than expected, finish the job/goal/task you set out for yourself, because it’s not about how you start, it’s about how you finish!
