You Can Only Count on Yourself

Your friends and family members will stand beside you when you need them. However, they cannot read your mind, nor are they born with the ability to interpret your body language when you speak to them accurately. The point I am driving here is that they would not be able to comprehend all that is going on in your life. They would not apprehend the thoughts that keep you awake during the dark hours of the day. They would not be able to alleviate your discomfort because they are oblivious to how much you are in a world of hurt.

At the end of the road, you can only trust yourself. It is not that hard to understand why: people evolve in terms of priorities, emotions and perspectives. You are the only one genuinely capable of saving yourself from any trap you are caught. You wield the power to break away from everything that is weighing you down or putting you in reverse.

When all is said and done, you only have yourself, so believe in it. Trust your heart. Trust your mind. Believe that you do not need anyone to complete you, nor do you need anyone to help you live the life you truly desire.

People will continually seek ways to make you question yourself, your beliefs and your actions. However, the choice is yours to decide if you want to succumb to their opinions or if you wish to believe in your inner voice.

Therefore, let the narrow-minded folks criticize you. Let them call you insane. Let them say you will never be worthy. Let them tell you are too much or too little. Let them view you as stubborn and challenging to mingle with. Let them say you will never succeed. Let them believe that they are better than you in every way. Let them wishfully think they are more important. Let them judge you to their heart’s content because all they are actually doing is driving you to become everything you are meant to be. In the process, remember to stay true to every little piece of yourself.

They are actually helping you because they tell you who you do not want to be around, who you should not believe and who only admires you when you are silent because they cannot deal with your voice.

Hence, let them voice out whatever they want because you will stop listening, and they will be nothing but background noise at the end of the day. In the end, you will discover your peace away from those who love to sabotage you and your dreams. In the end, you will see yourself away from those attempting to inform you who you should be or what kind of life you should embrace. In the fullness of time, you will discover that nothing else matters if you can count on yourself.
