With the US healthcare system returning to voluntary participation, this week’s article provides information for those who would rather take steps to prevent the onset of health problems, rather than relying on doctors, drugs or surgery.
I recently watched a fascinating video describing the discovery by Clint Ober, a 72 year old former cable TV executive, of a simple technique that, among many other benefits, has the effect of de-stressing those who use it, as well as reducing inflammation related illnesses. The back story to this is his observation that human beings are essentially batteries when viewed from the energetic perspective, drawing energy from the planet we live on (a much larger battery), which receives its energy from our Sun.
He noticed that, since we started wearing shoes with plastic and rubber soles, and living in homes elevated above the Earth, we have insulated ourselves from the Earth, restricting our ability to naturally ground. As a result, humans now become charged with static electricity and radiated energy fields, which can create unnatural electric currents within the body, interfering with and stressing the normal bioelectrical activities of the body and interfering with natural sleep and health.
Mr. Ober brought his observations to the attention of doctors and scientists, and studies have been performed that validate the effectiveness of grounding or earthing techniques in naturally improving health and well-being (see http://bit.ly/2q9XSuN). Initially, Ober experimented by attaching strips of conductive tape to his mattress, then attaching a grounding wire to his mattress and running it out his window and into the ground outside his bedroom. He noticed that he immediately slept much better than previously and that, over time, many of the various health conditions he had been experiencing.
As he discussed his experiments with doctors and scientists, they saw a potential link between de-grounding and the rise in recent decades in chronic illness, immune disorders and inflammatory health conditions, and decided to review evidence from the various studies that have been conducted into the effects of grounding on the human body. As you’ll see from reading the linked meta-study, while none of the research studies mentioned has been large scale, all of them have identified significant benefits to the grounding groups over their non-grounding comparison groups.
The simplest (and free) way to test this for yourself is to make time on a regular basis to go barefoot on a grassy area. Other ways include buying earthing sheets or mats, which plug into the earthing (round/bottom) pin in a power point, so you can ground while you sleep or while you work.
The research certainly looks promising, as do the customer reviews of these products. Earthing or grounding looks like a great way to de-stress, re-energize and stay healthier for longer.
