To look at Michael Munson today, you would never know that he was once immersed in chaos, depression, and anxiety which he self-medicated with substances. The 50-year-old Renaissance Man can be seen strolling the streets of Philadelphia, camera in hand, capturing images of neighborhoods and cultural icons. Oh, and his cat Maya is often the questionably willing subject of photos. He has certifications in personal training, nutrition coaching, Kinesiology/sports medicine, Pilates, meditation, yoga, massage, and mixed martial arts. For a quarter of a century, he has worked in the fitness and nutrition fields and two decades as a chef. He rolls that all in together in a business called Thrive Fitness & Wellness.
I had the opportunity to dive deeper with him into what drives this thriver. I was curious to know about the connection between brain and body in service to total well-being.
