Almost best to let the press release speak for itself here …
In 1996, award winning writer Alex Simmons brought his greatest creation to the comics book world, Blackjack, an African-American soldier of fortune, battling fierce enemies, the ghost of his past, and the racism of his times. The reaction from critics and fans was amazing …
“…one who fills a deep void in the pantheon of world class heroes…” – Morgan Freeman, Oscar winning film star
“…it’s his [Simmons] storytelling style that makes Blackjack really sizzle…” – Comic Shop News
“…There is always a lesson to be learned in Blackjack, be it social, historical, or more philosophical…” – Darryl Alladice, school teacher
Simmons and his creative team produced several issues before the economics of publishing such a quality product took its toll. But over the years fans and agents of the media industry couldn’t forget this unique hero – and neither could its creator. So … they’re back.
