Every week I do a column full of comic book reviews as I've done since March 2003 and currently published at Comic Book Resources. Then, after the reviews post, I try to come over to Komplicated and expand on the thoughts and ideas listed there. Why talk about stuff at some other site? Oh, like you've never done any private projects when you're at work! Sometimes things get profound, sometimes it's gibberish, but it's always about comics … let's see what we get this week!
What? This week's reviews …
HERE YOU GO AGAIN WITH THAT MADNESS: There was no Commentary Track last week. Some people may be upset about that. First of all, shut up — I have stuff cooking, stuff that couldn't wait. Second of all, in case you missed "first of all," shut up, how much did you pay for this brand new, two-pages-shorter #1 issue? Exactly. Moving on.
LIL LOKI: The newest incarnation of the Norse trickster is the latest in a string of horrible people that I adore. The vague unfamiliarity with what he's doing combined with the natural ability to deceive and manipulate makes him compelling to watch, like the first few seasons of Michael Rosenbaum on Smallville or the early appearances of Julian Sark on Alias. I enjoy reading about bad people, and Kieron Gillen is playing that song like a virtuoso.
WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO YOUR STARBORN REVIEW? Looks like it disappeared in transition. That's weird. Here we go …
This is the issue where the heir to an empire finally stops with his Arthur Dent act and acts like he has a pair. Bringing both his ancestral weapon and his own sense of determination to bear, the fun really gets started when this issue crosses over with another Stan Lee/BOOM! collaboration, leading to some exciting action scenes … [MISSING CONTENT BEGINS HERE] and an interesting tension between the heir to an empire and his would be protectors. As the perspective characters, Warner's being used by writer Chris Roberson (who also did the two genius Cinderella minis for Vertigo) to flesh out the story at just the right pace, balancing elements happening on different worlds. Outstanding work!

AT YOUR SERVICE, SIR: I'm watching Aspen's Executive Assistant titles with interest. I have a soft spot for taciturn female assassins, and the writing is a notch above what many people used to expect from the company. I bought the first one, the second one was close, looking out for what's next.
THE FINAL COUNTDOWN: Every week I feel less motivated to read DC's line of comics, "relaunch" pending. Meh.
THAT'S THE NEWS, AND I AM OUTTA HERE: Debating switching this over to become a video blog. Thoughts? Off I go, gotta prep for this Kielen King interview this weekend and send something to Blogworld …
