I just sat through over an hour of Donald Trump’s acceptance speech. It was one of the most disturbing hours of my life. His anger spewed over and over again. His underlying themes of racism and xenophobia, which have been a cornerstone of his entire campaign, appeared again. Yet the crowd cheered.
I heard him justify blaming inner-city citizens for the problems caused by racially-induced policies. I heard him blame immigrants for stealing jobs, rapes, and murder. I heard him blame Muslims for everything else. Yet the crowd cheered.
At the end of this convention, I am left drained, disappointed and fearful. I am drained over the relentless, unending hate and blame that poured out every night. I am disappointed in a voting block that continues to fall for this garbage. I am fearful that this golem could actually become our next president.
We cannot continue to allow this element, these beliefs, to grab footholds in our society again. This is 2016 these ideas should have been put to rest a long time ago, yet here we are.
America is better than this; we are all better than this. We are better than a candidate who has a policy of division and anger. We are better than a platform of a party that is driven by fear and hatred.
Yet the crowd cheered.

“Social wasn’t much of a fan of the convention which comes in at 71% negative this week. The highlight for Social was Ivanka Trump’s speech which is coming in at 94% positive so far today. Donald’s is at 39% positive. Think they are running the wrong Trump?” – Howard K 30dB

People are so easily swept up in the cartoonish caricatures of each side. It’s the same thing as the distraction and misdirection a magician uses to make his illusions successful. People, it’s time to put aside your assumptions, biases, and expectations, to look behind the mirror and see what’s really going on in the world.

Jw. You heard what you wanted to hear. I did not hear those things. I did not hear hate, or blaming inner city residents, or xenophobia. The world is already unsafe by prior standards and trump probably won’t make them worse. To you he will. To me he won’t.
Thumbs up
Nice to see you again, Tom and DJ. The misinformation about trump is reaching a frenzy. Donald never said all Muslims are terrorists. But. He did say terrorists are Muslim, and we should have a proper vetting process before we let more on. This goes along with his overall point of safety. The world is a far more dangerous place over the last 2 or 3 years. It’s not Republican or trump that is affecting this. It’s this administration’s policy at this point that’s doing it. But agendists don’t want to hear it, of which I’m NOT saying the author… Read more »
Hi Mark, thanks for the welcome back. “Insanity” sums it up. I’ve seen countless videos where Democrats (more accurately anti-Trumps) have quoted lies about Trump and there isn’t one of them that can prove what he’s claimed to have said. And this article is a perfect example His words are continually twisted.
Gorgeous! What a delight to see!! Thanks for posting!

You love the GreenBay packers … you may want to read a couple of books on what made them great … start with Vince Lombardi.
Start with, Instant Replay, by Jerry Kramer. Then read up on Vince Lombardi, “When Pride Mattered”, “What it takes to be number one”,
They were my team growing up, and they were great for a reason. That reason started with Vince Lombardi.
Me as well and my son is following suit. I just got my son a hard cover copy of “When Pride Mattered.” He never got to meed my dad, his grandfather, who was inspired by Vince. Dad was born and raised in Green Bay.
OT, DJ, how did you get to add a picture to your name?
