My love for Mexico wasn’t born immediately. It took several months. I liked San Miguel De Allende for several reasons, but I didn’t have another experience for a comparison. Sometimes, people fall in love with a new country almost immediately. They may compare their native country with a new country and prefer life in their new country.
My love for Mexico was born in Tequisquiapan. San Miguel De Allende is rich with Mexican historic sites, but it isn’t very Mexican in other cultural factors. This is my opinion. Although, you’ll find that my opinion is quite popular if you ask enough Mexicans.
My love for Mexico was born when I noticed the interest in foreigners increases outside of foreigner tourist destinations. My love for Mexico was born when I noticed that a high quality of life can be obtained at significantly lower prices outside of the foreigner tourist destinations. It’s hard to notice these such things when new expats hesitate to see other parts of Mexico and stay in their comfort zone (i.e. San Miguel De Allende).
When I’m off the foreigner tourist trail, I’ve found that Mexicans are much more interested in foreigners. An obvious reason is that they don’t see many foreigners, but another not so obvious reason is that they want to give foreigners an unforgettable experience. It’s not uncommon for Mexicans to invite you to a free dinner at a restaurant. It’s not uncommon for Mexicans to spend an hour, showing you the most interesting places of their town.
That type of patience, compassion, and generosity inspired my interest in finding a Latina girlfriend. I felt that Tequisquiapan may not be the place that I would find her, but I was curious to find out. I could offer a lot to Tequis Latinas except for one thing that they desire a lot.
