1. Cam Newton is in the news again for his press conference sullenness. Actual story should be that these press conferences are stupid.
Remember the media firestorm and controversy about Cam Newton’s post-Super Bowl press conference?
Well, with the Carolina Panthers now 1-5 after a brutal loss to the Saint in Cam Newton’s return from his concussion, we’re baaaaack.
Here’s an idea: Cam Newton just shouldn’t do press conferences after losses.
Oh wait; he can’t do that. See, Exhibit A: Marshawn Lynch:
Well. How about this. Maybe … just maybe, reporters need to do better than asking 4000 variations of the “question” “So…How frustrated were you”?
Here is the transcript.
Judge for yourself.
But while you are thinking about it, here is a dramatic reenactment:
“Why didn’t you win”
Because the other team played better and scored more points.
“Are you disappointed that you lost and are now 1-5?”
Yes.
“Like, how disappointed?”
I don’t know.
“Would you say really disappointed?”
Next question.
“If disappointment were a color, what color would you be now?”
Wut.
“OK. Let’s try a “Talk about” question instead.”
A what question?
“Talk about how your defense gave up over 460 yards passing but we’re blaming you for the loss.”
But. I don’t- is that even a question?
“What are you going to do now for next week to turn this around?”
We will do the sports as hard as we can. We will try to win by scoring more points than the team we are playing.
“Can we talk about your hat? Why are you wearing such a dapper festive hat when you lost the game?”
[Stands up and leaves].

2. Colin Kaepernick Started a Game, Continued To Patiently Explain Why He Is Protesting. Bills Fans Respond with Deplorable T-shirts.
Because Blaine Gabbert just isn’t that good, Colin Kaepernick got a change to start today at QB for the 49ers against the Bills. He had some nice moments, connecting on a long TD to Torrey Smith and racking up some rushing yards.
In the end the (on-the-field) day belonged to the Bills and LeSean ‘Shady’ McCoy who dominated his revenge game against his former Eagle’s coach, now 49ers coach, Chip Kelly.
Again, however, the focus was on Kaepernick’s continued Black Lives Matter protest of kneeling during the national anthem. His words:
“I don’t understand what’s un-American about fighting for liberty and justice for everybody, for the equality this country says it stands for,”Kaepernick said. “To me, I see it as very patriotic and American to uphold the United States to the standards that it says it lives by.”
I couldn’t agree more. (Still).
Gee, they seem nice. #NotAllBillsFans

3. ‘So…This Happened’ Poster Boy Of Greatness, Odell Beckham, Jr., Erupts (!!) for 222 yards and 2 TDs in New York Football Giants Win
We’ve made no secret of our love for Odell Beckham, Jr. here at ‘So…This Happened.’ That’s right, we are unabashed NJ Giants homers. Hey, you don’t like it? Well then, YOU write the column. No seriously. Write the column. We’re looking for writers!
Back to Odell. Is he perfect?
No. He’s had some moments where he’s lost his cool, and he’s got some growing up to do. And despite our wildest fantasies, it seems that he and Lena Dunham will never be a celebrity couple. So there goes THAT.
But we do like the young man.
Thanks for all that you do for this great organization! None of this would be possible without you guys! Best Fans! pic.twitter.com/IgkOwF85NW

Is he a wildly exciting talent on the field?
Ummm. That would be a YES GO GIANTS!!! WOOOOO HOOO!!!!!

“Kaepernick is still getting beaten up over his National Anthem kneel. Getting trounced by the Bills probably didn’t help his cause as Social is tagging him at 69% negative today in combination with the National Anthem.” – Howard K. 30dB
