Once upon a time, jailbreaking an iOS device meant a lotta work. Now, you just visit a website. The site jailbreak.me is back and it is updated for iPad 2 and the latest operating system. Doing so voids your warranty and there's some risk, but everything can be fixed by a restore with iTunes.

FACEBOOK AND SKYPE TEAM UP FOR VIDEO CHAT
Facebook is the king of social networking. Skype is the king of video chat, now owned by Micro$oft. Now they're coming together for a total social experience. The new venture includes a change in buddy lists that show who you chat with most.
Group chat is included, sticking it to Oovoo. Clicking "like" from within Skype will become possible. This doesn't work on mobile though. The team up is coming soon as of version 5.3 of Skype for Windows, and the Mac version will be along soon after. The announcement's proximity to the Google Plus one is probably no accident. It's Facebook's first way to fight back.

FOUR PERSON VIDEO CHAT FOR iPAD
Speaking of chat for multiple people, Fring is bringing four person video chat to the iPad. It's like Facetime, but with more options. It also works over a cell signal as well as wi-fi. Fring talks to non iOS devices, too.

TEAM FORTRESS 2 SEGREGATION
When we reported on Team Fortress 2 becoming "free to play" back in June, we knew pay players would have some advantages. We didn't expect segregation to jump off, though! A man named Asher Baker created a modification called Free 2 B Kicked.
It bans all users with a free version of TF2 from private servers. Valve can't to squat because it exists on machines they don't own. Anyone who buys something from the Valve store can bypass the mod. Even that can be beaten, if somebody codes it. Baker said, "A community needs a barrier to entry. If there is no barrier to entry — and no recourse against those people [who take advantage] — it could be bad." This battle is still raging on da interwebs.
