This is my default: fear first, courage next. But I’m actively working to change that. Awareness, I hope, is the first step.
What If I Could Have It All?
The question I’ve been asking myself today is this:
If I truly allowed it and received it, could life offer me everything I want?
What if I released myself from the constraints I’ve placed around my desires, all the limits and self-inflicted boundaries? So much of what I’ve declined in life, opportunities, invitations, gifts, was out of fear. Fear of judgment. Fear of guilt. Fear of shame. I listened to voices that weren’t my own, and in doing so, I silenced the part of me that was dying to say yes.
Indulging in Desire
There’s resentment in this, resentment toward myself for not being brave enough, and resentment toward the world for judging me. I’ve wanted things, desperately at times, but I’ve turned away from them because someone might think poorly of me. I’ve declined happiness because I was too scared to claim it. And while I can’t control how others react, I’ve come to realize that the power to choose, and to say yes to life’s offerings, is, and always has been, with me.
This process isn’t just about accepting my desires; it’s about indulging in them, fully and shamelessly. It’s about listening to the voice that says, “This is what I want,” and following it. It’s about peeling away the layers of guilt and shame that have wrapped around my wants like a suffocating cocoon. It’s about stepping into the fullness of life with open arms and no apologies.
Nature’s Seduction
For me, this indulgence begins in nature. There’s a magic in being outside, the connection to the ocean, the blissful breeze, the sun lighting up my soul. When I’m outdoors, I feel connected to something greater than myself. I feel plugged into the source of life, into the universe, into God. It’s an energy that vibrates through everything, including me. Indoors, I feel cut off. Stuck between walls and ceilings. But outside, I’m one with it all.
When I’m connected to the source, life takes on a new kind of beauty. All my senses become heightened, touch becomes electric, and food tastes ever so sweet. It’s as if nature is slowly seducing me. There’s something in the air, invisible, powerful, and mystical, a seductive energy.
It’s in these moments that I feel most alive, most myself. There’s a sensuality to life when you let yourself feel it fully. It’s indulgent, yes, but not in a selfish way. It’s indulgent in a way that honors the beauty and abundance of existence, embracing the pleasures of being human.
The Mystical Dance of Life
To live from this space is to live in a state of enchantment, where life is infused with meaning and mystery. The touch of the wind, the warmth of the sun, they aren’t just sensations; they’re revelations. There’s a secret force animating everything, and though I can’t see it, I can feel it. And it’s slowly drawing me deeper into its spell.
The mystical dance of life doesn’t ask for anything but my presence, my willingness to surrender to its rhythm. It is enough to simply be, to feel, to indulge in the beauty and pleasure of existence. There’s no need to analyze or explain, no need to step back into the confines of the mind.
Right here, this is heaven.
